Proud to be a child of God, a faithful son (I hope lol) a trying to be hardworking student, a part-time worker, a nerf/milsim enthusiast, a crafting and music lover and an awesome friend. to you :) Hope you have an enjoyable time reading about my life, as much as I have fun living it! |
Minimalist
I am a university student who loves chocolate! Coffee is my best buddy when it comes to taking on my finals. I have a tendency to want to try and do so many different things at once and as a result, I've found my hobbies to be as such!
Nerfing is one of them, but aside from that, I also love arts and craft. I have my own startup, Thumbforlego at: where I sell my works!
I love to do all sorts of crafting, so you will see me uploading posts of my leathercrafts, thumbdrives, replica guns, nerf gun modifications and gundam models! I'm fortunate enough to be blessed by really supportive parents and given the chance to explore many, many parts of the world and try out a plethora of activities. This is also how I discovered my love for film photography, videography and piano.
The film photo above is unedited! My family loves cold countries xD. We managed to catch the northern lights twice!
I've also gotten the chance to experience many of nature's wonders
And my most freezing experience to date: riding a husky ski sled into the sunset (It was -38 to -40 degrees celsius and the huskies were pretty fast.)

Why 36000feetabove? This is the altitude that commercial planes cruise at and I have always loved the view up in the sky, being amongst the sea of clouds. :) Personally, my favourite favourite food has got to be airplane buns! Does anyone else feel the same way?! With a slice of butter and looking out of the window, I have yet to find an experience that can beat that.
After tomorrow, before today

Hehe this time round, i have added in a OLDER POST link at the bottom of the blog posts! for some strange, mind-boggling, unexplained reason, i dont seem to be able to add in consecutive posts after meddling with the settings in blogger, as well as editing the html coding :( #sadlyf but that's the best i can do! didnt even realise that readers can only read one blog post on the main page xD fail.STRANGELY enough, now my blog chooses to show the rest of the posts. Seriously PMSing blog i have. Day 4 was pretty interesting because we finally had the chance to snowmobile!! i also do remember that that was the coldest period during the holiday!! ( i wanted to say outfield because i'm going outfield soon :P) It was freakin -35 degrees!! whoa whoa! i tell ya it was FREEZING cold. Frankly speaking if you get frostbite, my facial expression will be totally unchanged. To get frostbite in such a cold environment is like having a sink with a tap!! What's with my comparisons....i have no idea but whatever. The last time i rode a snowmobile was when i was sec4 i think! like wowow so long ago eh? i rode it when i was in Japan, as well as in the US. This one was the longest snowmobile ride ever, standing at SIX hours!! japan's only lasted for approx 2 hours? But before that, breakfast!! Mmmmm are those meatballs? :D hehehe as usual! here, you see the usual Finnish breakfast meal, with meatballs, SCRAMBLED EGGSSSSS, those cheeeeeese :3, pancakes which taste like nothing, and that biscuit-looking foodie. :) Now that our stomachs are filled, filling all warm, its time for some snowmobiling!! Wheeeeee~! this is where the snowmobile place is which is just a pretty short distance down the hill. :) because we are staying in a ski resort, its located up the hill. -.- anyway, did you know that they actually have actual snowmobile routes for the locals? like they have junctions and stuff but no traffic lights, which means that in Finland, you're gonna see the usual roads, the pedestrian walkways which pretty much are just snow (i've never seen the floor of em) and you have the snowmobile lane thingy which doesnt run parallel to the walkway and road. you have bridges and mini tunnels too for the snowmobile lane! also, we share the lane with the husky sled dogs! So... after getting those overalls, which are really warm and useful and a quick tutorial on how to use the snowmobile, like the buttons on the snowmobile, we are good to go~! Also, you need to have a driver's liscence in order to drive the snowmobile. If you ask me, driving seems easier than this xD because you dont have to concentrate as much! though when snowmobiling, you dont really have the traffic problem to look out for when driving :) but you gotta watch out for those slanted portions in the tracks as well as the humps! The course that we took i feel is the most challenging so far, due to the sheer amount of time riding, as well as the weather! Super cold.zzzzz Though i would strongly recommend you to have a driver's licence so you can have a better grasp on safety and stuff, but in this big group, ah it's alright to go on your first try! Since you have people looking out for ya~ plus once you do it once and have the experience, you should be able to do it subsequently! It took me about a minute of playing around with the accelerator and brake to get used to it, so its pretty alright! and this time round, my hands weren't freezing alright! Front view, Back view, The track is really scenic, with lots of snow!! The ice is so thick on the river, that you can even drive over the ice or snowmobile over without worrying of cracking the ice! Though frankly when we went over the ice, it was pretty scary because of the horrible cracking sound that comes out, unlike when you're on snow :) The snowmobiles that they have are very powerful, unlike the previous ones that i've used! From time to time, the guide would stop so that the rest can catch up! just like how i drive my car, i tend to stop closer than average but its just a little! wait till you see how my mum drives man. Like an old school bus driver, NO GAP. but do i drive generally faster than usual on the snowmobile? yes. bwahahahaha! no difference from driving. Somehow i have this tendency to drive fast. my analogy: drive so slow, might as well get down and walk. With this kinda scenery, any random shot would look good please. you see what i mean? Just anyhow snap a photo to the left/right and voila~! you get a nice rainbow'coloured sky eh? well this happens only if your camera lens have yet to become 1. fogged up or 2. frozen or 3. have a layer of ice over it. ARGH backache killing meeeeeeeee Hoho i actually took photo of a bridge!! yeah this is one of the many bridges that we have to cross, moreover, you have these tracks placed on the bridge so its particularly for the crossing of snwomobiles! This is a whole lot more interesting than the Japan snowmobile okay! Japan's one was flat. like nothing much. Wanna know something cool? :D i saw a ridge up ahead, which was pretty big....but deemed it cross-able and i revved the machine to max and flew over the ridge along with my bro behind! mind you that's like 470kg of weight off the ground man. This is how the math works out: bro(100) + me(70) + snowmobile(300). like wooooot these snowmobiles are powerful okay!! soon after landing, i swerved to the right to avoid smashing into some tree. obviously we overturned xD heheheh but at least that was a good YOLO moment!! no regrets (y) if im injured, regret regret. Apparently i was the only one who overturned the snowmobile for the trip xD phail. Later on, i realised that there is actually a track on the left hand side! #douchemoment but it was fun! We later finally reached the halfway mark, with my visor pretty badly fogged up since we wear balaclavas and when you breathe out, the mist will directly float upwards, misting up your visor. but on the other hand, if you put up your visor, your nose becomes so cold!! So i balanced ^^ Seriously just look at the amount of snow man... your leg just goes in all the way! also, that's the child sled that the guide pulls along for the little ones who cant ride pillion. We were brought to this room, by then i was already freeeeezing cold okay.... i didnt wear my down jacket inside the overall, which made it a lot thinner but colder too. my hands were freezing..and i really hate it when the hands are so cold actually! we soon entered the Sami house for some warmth by the fire (and candles) as well as a slideshow explaining how the weather is like over there! OOPs let me clean those frosted lens first! Surprisingly, the effect that turns out sometimes looks good xD i thihk it was the later shots that turned out real nice :)) seriously :P WAH handsomeboy92@hotmail.com! okok jkjk sheeeeesh #thickskin I actually took photo of this signboard! i seldom take photo of any signboards at all. Hehe now then i did i know that we actually cant touch the reindeers on the heads! also, this was the place whereby i really learnt more about reindeers! Also, did you know that finland actually has more reindeers than humans??? which explains why they have so much reindeer products to sell, as well as all those stews and food! yum yum!! :D by the way, i borught back 2 cans of reindeer meat and have no idea what to do with them now! will probably display them, just like what i did when i bought clam chowder japanese instant noodles and Final Fantasy canned drinks from japan xD
Dat ass.
HOHO SELFIE WITH REINDEER. Beat that!! >:) seriously i felt like dying already, because the snowmobile was so cold, but we still had the reindeer ride!! i was so lazy, i felt like slacking inside the house instead xD muahahahah and here i am saying hi to a reindeer. It ignored me! tsk! :/ must be because im too weird. my nose is sooooooo red. tsk. this successful selfie was after a thousand failed ones. The subsequent ones were a failure too :P Right after the reindeer ride, many of us felt that the snowmobile ride back would be too torturous! So....the guides called a bus!! I guess this happens pretty often, that's why they can actually get a bus over at a moment's notice. so many of them went back by bus! So we all got a chance to ride the snowmobile alone! BUTTTT too bad due to some unfortunate circumstances, bro couldnt get his chance to ride a snowmobile, so... he had to pillion behind me again :( i thought i could ride it alone!! but oh well. Mum was behind us, but as though bro would wanna be pillion for hers xD Obviously, dad would jump onto the bus xD in fact, we only had just right amount of peeps to ride alone for all the snowmobiles. so that's close to a 50% reduction in number of people riding back! bro was so so pissed when he couldnt get his hands on a snowmobile for the first time alright. on the other hand, the guides found out his age, so he cant drive while i pillion! Hehehe when i came back, my lens was frosted with a considerably thick amount of ice on it! so after you scratch away the ice....you get a whole new instagram filter!!! Thats the photo of the guide, christoph, no worries, i have a better photo of him!! Guys, let's all change our names to christoph aye? He is a really comical and cheerful guy!! ^^ absolutely loved.....his belt. hehe HIS BELT IS SOOO USEFUL.... you see how it has hoops everywhere? now you can hang whatever stuff you wanna hang!! *imagines myself hanging all the souvenir keychains and doing a belly dance* oh no. We got a reindeer driving liscense though i dont think i will be using it in Singapore... Soon, we found ourselves back in the hotel, changed out of that overall (yes we brought it back because we need it for husky sled the next day) like WOOOT the overall is gonna be so useful when we go hunting for Northern lights in the night!!! WOHOOOOOOO no longer need to brave the cold just to catch the lights!! *sleeps on ski slope* After tweaking around with the settings, i also lessened the aperture and voila~! I leave you with the photos of the Northern lights, this time.......from my camera!!! I have yet to edit the photos, because im a lazy sheep. MEHHHHHHH :3 (the green doesnt seem that obvious in some photos) we went to a few locations too! Like finallyyyyy :') my own photos of the northern lights~! WELL today was the first service of 2014! and guess what, the VERY FIRST mistake i made was the year when jotting down sermon notes. I had some fun with the ushers on the stage after service ended! :P we were standing there taking a group photo, then wished that the lighting ministry can on the stage lights and BOOMZ we have light!! wohooo!!! hehehe prayer instantly answered xD they happened to see us on stage and switched on the lightings for us! :DD What other better way than to take a selfie with a fellow usher from my cell group, Jael~! The awkward moment when everyone wants to do a jumpshot, but don't know when to jump. #bluelanyardsftw |
