I am a university student who loves chocolate! Coffee is my best buddy when it comes to taking on my finals. I have a tendency to want to try and do so many different things at once and as a result, I've found my hobbies to be as such!
Nerfing is one of them, but aside from that, I also love arts and craft. I have my own startup, Thumbforlego at: where I sell my works!
I love to do all sorts of crafting, so you will see me uploading posts of my leathercrafts, thumbdrives, replica guns, nerf gun modifications and gundam models! I'm fortunate enough to be blessed by really supportive parents and given the chance to explore many, many parts of the world and try out a plethora of activities. This is also how I discovered my love for film photography, videography and piano.
The film photo above is unedited! My family loves cold countries xD. We managed to catch the northern lights twice!
I've also gotten the chance to experience many of nature's wonders
And my most freezing experience to date: riding a husky ski sled into the sunset (It was -38 to -40 degrees celsius and the huskies were pretty fast.)

Why 36000feetabove? This is the altitude that commercial planes cruise at and I have always loved the view up in the sky, being amongst the sea of clouds. :) Personally, my favourite favourite food has got to be airplane buns! Does anyone else feel the same way?! With a slice of butter and looking out of the window, I have yet to find an experience that can beat that.

Now that i am done with the outdoor area for Gardens by the Bay, now its time to head indoors! well both indoor conservatories have entrance fees..but they are totally worth every dollar! every cent! when i first entered into the temperate conservatory, i was totally amazed man. never seen anything like it before! oh yes speaking of which, this post shall be solely on the temperate conservatory and my next post shall be on the other tropical conservatory. both are air-conditioned by the way! just in case someone thinks that we are all gonna get sweaty in there. oh yes if you get the annual pass, just tap and walk in :) so you can walk around the outside or even go for a run, then jump in and cool down! :D jkjk. super budget.THOSE WHO HAVE YET TO GO, PLEASE GO INTO THE SHORTER CONSERVATORY FIRST. CUZ THE TALLER ONE IS WAY COOLER. when you walk towards the ticket counters, there is an entrance for the temperate conservatory head there first ;) best to the last guys~ ![]() wasnt amazed by the entrance..because it just seemed so normal like some museum.. ![]() ya know whats so cool about this? they actually have a mini screen at the sides showing the flowers slowly blooming! its super coooooool! By the way, i am using a Canon SX40 HS for all my camera shots! the photos come out really really good and the camera is not as cumbersome to use as a DSLR. zooming up to 35x optical zoom is just fantastic. along with that are all those cool features like toy camera, miniature effects, usual apperture or shutter speed priority etc etc, all jam-packed into a body!! saves me the hassle from repeatedly turning the lens to zoom for a dslr man. ![]() this is the magnificent sight that you are greeted by! i was like WOOOOW so huge...hey and its pretty chilly in there too! it just feels so good to just walk around and snap photos and marvel at the plants rather than to wear a jacket and keep warm. take off that jacket and enjoy some awesome temperate weather! the documentary also showed how they carefully engineered the systems to provide such a type of condition~ you can start to see some baobabs eh? :P hopefully i spelt that right! just some random shots, really really amazed at the plants and how well they are kept :) ![]() ![]() they have lots of these quirky statues peppered around the place randomly. really helps to liven up the place! then as usual, they have descriptions of the plants for people to read. wonder if the surroundings will start to turn a bit greenish over time.. i doubt though. plants galore!! ![]() ![]() ![]() HUGE im tellin' ya, just HUGE. ![]() never seen anything like this before! not even when i am overseas at some temperate climate area! wow they really know how to choose what plants to import~ ![]() ![]() size comparison time! ![]() haha i wasnt expecting to actually see this plant again! remember chancing upon this interesting plant somewhere before... ![]() ![]() sometimes i have absolutely no idea how they make such sculptures. its like an eagle made from wood?? look at all those sheer detailing! madness! ![]() what the eagle sees. :P ![]() oh look at those tiny ants! i think this is the first time i actually use the miniature setting in my camera and it turns out really like a miniature. success!! ![]() too huge. like seriously scary. the small signage is about the same height as an average human. oh yes i forgot! they have those listening guides stuff? usual thing. walk to the place, see the number and bing you get an audio guide! ![]() the leaves are spilling! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() REALLY REALLY lush flower bushes they have! :D ![]() ![]() pretty much green and nothing else :) ![]() potato chips. anyone?? ![]() like the outside, you get to walk around up and down! ![]() cute lil cafe hidden in one corner. wonder if they charge extra for the "temperate air conditioning" ![]() see my thumb at the bottom of the flower? ![]() such nice thick lush greenery...when they do it really well, it looks like a mattress to me. (y) too tempting. too tempting. (y) ![]() used the enhanced colours function in my camera and boom! i think. cant remember if i really used the function.. ![]() found these cute little strawberries hidden at a corner near a small flight of stairs, staying totally hidden from the public. :) so sweet! not talking about the taste of the strawberries. oh now that i have found the strawberries, that no longer makes me public >:D time for loads of flowers! :D ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() that's mum! OKAY i am done with the temperate climate conservatory! now the next one shall be the tropical climate conservatory! but i will only be doing that in the coming week since i got to go back to camp...sadly. how i wish i can not go back! luckily for this incoming week, its gonna be a short week as national day is coming up! wohoo! more holidays! now i am so appreciating any form of holiday that lets me stay out of camp. (y) on the topic that i have been on pretty long time ago, my knee. Osgood Sclatter's disease. guess who discovered the 'disease'?? Dr. Osgood. smart. >:) well a quick update on what i have been doing in camp..i finally got to see a physiotherapist that helped me with my knee and gave me a so much better understanding on what exactly is the problem and he also prescribed me some ultrasound treatment sessions for my knee! all the while, i thought ultrasound was only used for pregnant women but i was wrong! :P noobie me. it actually helps to stimulate tissue growth! so for the next physio session, i am going to start doing exercises that strengthens the muscles around the affected region. i am really hoping that the pain can finally go away, let the knee heal quickly and for God's sake let me go out for a run! :( have been dying to go for a run for more than 2 months now. still not much progress in my knee. moreover, i am made to carry decently heavy loads around in camp, asked to do tasks that requires me to stand for prolonged periods of time. so far, ever since i got into 30SCE, my knee's condition have only gotten worse. now, even my left knee is starting to cry out for some rest as i am resting the majority of my body load onto that knee for now while the other heals. well i heard that there is a chance of us becoming signallers and i really do hope that i can chosen! so that at least i can learn something useful and not to mention, it is just opposite my junior college! i have always wanted to pop by PJC and say hi to my friends and teachers...man i am really missing school. Unit life for me is worse than being in BMTC and in PJC! |
