I am a university student who loves chocolate! Coffee is my best buddy when it comes to taking on my finals. I have a tendency to want to try and do so many different things at once and as a result, I've found my hobbies to be as such!
Nerfing is one of them, but aside from that, I also love arts and craft. I have my own startup, Thumbforlego at: where I sell my works!
I love to do all sorts of crafting, so you will see me uploading posts of my leathercrafts, thumbdrives, replica guns, nerf gun modifications and gundam models! I'm fortunate enough to be blessed by really supportive parents and given the chance to explore many, many parts of the world and try out a plethora of activities. This is also how I discovered my love for film photography, videography and piano.
The film photo above is unedited! My family loves cold countries xD. We managed to catch the northern lights twice!
I've also gotten the chance to experience many of nature's wonders
And my most freezing experience to date: riding a husky ski sled into the sunset (It was -38 to -40 degrees celsius and the huskies were pretty fast.)

Why 36000feetabove? This is the altitude that commercial planes cruise at and I have always loved the view up in the sky, being amongst the sea of clouds. :) Personally, my favourite favourite food has got to be airplane buns! Does anyone else feel the same way?! With a slice of butter and looking out of the window, I have yet to find an experience that can beat that.
After tomorrow, before today

YES MY THUMBDRIVES PAGE HAS FINALLY BEEN SET UP. Scroll down to take a look at it if you want to skip about a new game i am playing!Omg i am so so glad that all of my assignments are officially over! just left with the submission of one last assignment for public speaking, of which I have already completed it. God knows how much i have ever typed out and finally i am typing out this blog post. So sick of doing those spellchecks and reading my essays over and over again to ensure that there are no typology errors. It was such a stressful end semester period trying to keep up with all the deadlines and everything was down to the day, that as i completed one assignment, the next one was due the following day which lol just gave me no break. but thank God that I managed to finish everything despite feeling so tired! (I feel tired everyday anyway) but now I am able to concentrate on leisure activities! Like finally say hi to my computer, my craft knives and strong smelling glue! in fact, i just downloaded Tom Clancy's The Division after the constant requests from my brother to buy the game and play it with him. I constantly turned him down because I was too busy with schoolwork. But now that schoolwork is officially done, i can start gaming! For now! (because i have summer school so oh shit school is gonna start on my birthday, 30th may and assignments will pile up once again but yet oh yes because summer school allows me to officially graduate by the end of this year) Impulsive by on The Division, but not regretting it. It's pretty fun i must say! but a very different feel from the standard PVP fps games. That game is more towards PVE. Not that it's a bad thing, just different. Allows me to feel less emotionally charged when playing games but at the same time feels too "peaceful". My steam gamer id is bonesharkie so add me up and we can play The division together! Currently playing with my brother haha :D So here are two videos to depict the difference that i mean between a PVP game and a PVE game. Of course division does have PVP...kind of. There is the whole dark zone thing about players killing one another like it's the Runescape wilderness. As much as i get pissed off while playing PVP games, i really enjoy being pissed off because of that thrill factor, which is absent in Division. This is PVP, start from 0:15 and this is Division, PVE. You can start from the 20 minute mark, although this guy talks a bit too much. Did i mention about getting back to my crafts? YEAH finally the thumbdrive idea is kicking off, getting the instagram page started, creating more thumbdrives and raising awareness. I must say though that it is pretty difficult because my instagram is erm, half dead. It's one of those ideas that i just keep at the back of my head but never do, but this time! Making baby step progress towards creating a "store". The thumbdrives don't come cheap though, which is a problem. So so so so many people have expressed interest in my thumbdrives but halt there because of the pricing. Honestly such things don't come cheap as a craft and I'm already selling it at quite a steal. Of course there are china thumbdrives in the market that is like $5 for a 4gb or so thumbdrive. As compared to mine which is $39 for a 32gb thumbdrive, the price does shock in comparison but relatively speaking, its so much more worth! plus i am using good quality thumbdrives, LEGO keychain and an extremely strong glue. Glue rated at 2tons strength. sure seems like overkill but that's the glue i trust. SO HERE IS THE INSTAGRAM PAGE: Thumbforlego!! please please support me by following my instagram page and if you like my crafts, please do help to spread the word! :) So the prices are as follows! 16gb = $29sgd 32gb = $39sgd 64gb = $49sgd however as now i am starting it off, im reducing all of the thumbdrive pricings by $5sgd! and i will be starting up an etsy store soon over the summer holidays :) Tuesday, April 19, 2016
OKAY I AM BACK. Sorry guys for the super long hiatus. I've been really busy and caught up with school work for the coming weeks, but am so glad that these are all finally coming to an end. *PHEW* But nevertheless, i am still in the midst of the busy period but feel like blogging now just so as to ease my mind a little. Cant be too harsh on myself isnt it? Well recently, I am finally FINALLY starting on this LEGO USB thumbdrive idea of mine, that I am now no longer making it as gifts for others but also to sell it out to you guys! here is a sneak peek of the thumbdrives that I am going to be selling!
It's finally taking shape, in terms of getting them sold as a lot of deliberation went into thinking which platform would be the best platform to sell my handcrafted items. The funny thing is that it's the busiest period now?!?! Assignment deadlines are flashing in front of us, project work presentations, submissions, lucky me I have very few tests and quizzes... and here I am thinking about how to make this craft idea of mine work out. Honestly, the thumbrives aren't gonna come cheap at all, because I believe in using quality products. But really, to think about these things while having so much schoolwork!?! ridiculous isn't it! And I realized it is the same too for my other busy periods for other semesters; that I will always be doing everything else except studying. Various forms of distractions include plastic modeling, or more recently i decided to polish my nerf blaster barrel, a new crafting idea of which I think I will reveal in due time... Do you ever get that feeling too, that when exams are looming, you tend to open the fridge more often, or suddenly you have some new found desire/revelation to keep fit and go out for a night run, etc. Yes that's me right now. Doing everything except studying. Polished it to a chrome finish because why not do this instead of completing assignments isn't it! Well back to the LEGO thumbdrives idea, I will publish the Instagram site on my blog too when the LEGO thumbdrives are ready to go! :) Just gotta iron out a few things to get going~ So far, everyone seems really keen on buying one? But it does come at a steep price I feel... Tried to make it as cheap as possible already though! Honestly, I can't wait to get this whole LEGO thumbdrives thing started as it's pretty fun making these thumbdrives! I just hope that I don't get too bogged down by it; that it becomes more of a job than a hobby. Currently now, I am enjoying it because I am doing it at my own pace, whenever I feel like it which I hope that this feeling will not change as the weeks go by. Well if I make it a "to order" thing, then yes I am going to stress myself out. But if I make and sell it as my own pace, then it is a very different story altogether. Which is also one of my constant deliberations right now. Another strong consideration is whether I should continue doing crafts now or begin on my essays tonight. Saturday, April 02, 2016
Yay! Finally i get to attend a Xplorer War after what seemed like forever (2 months). Somehow, for every war, its always a chance to test something new. This item that is new can be a walkie talkie, or a new addition to the current loadout, like a new pouch, or a new vest, boots, gloves. Or it could come in the form of a newly acquired nerf blaster, or a longer barrel, different diameter, a different aiming optic. Mine for this war was a swapped out barrel for my xSkull, the GoPro skeleton housing that i previously spray painted and the wallet-bleeding BrainExploder helmet NVG mount.
The main thing for me was to test the audio recording capability of the GoPro as this time round, it is using a different casing. My conclusion? the skeleton housing works great!!! sound quality is now so much much clearer, not so muffled like when you hear noises from within a fish tank or something. Not like i've been in a fish tank before.
And this war was quite different for me because i was the commander! So now that i know my role, i knew that i would definitely be pulling the trigger a lot lesser than other nerf wars as....
If i am pulling the trigger, it means that my enemy is close to me, which then means there would be an issue with my planning as by right, the enemy should not be able to get close to the commander as he should be shrouded behind his men.
So that was the mentality that i worked with. I must say though, my team was really good! I didnt have to pull the trigger at all and it was a fun learning experience for me in terms of allocating manpower and requesting for certain teams to move forward, etc etc. It was a 10v5 scenario as the leader of the five had the chance to pick out the best 5 that he reckons. On the other hand, you have me in the team of 10, that plays the main force of securing the flags. The 5 was playing as the terrorist side, which meant sneaking in and engaging in a more guerrilla style whereas the 10 played more as a collective force. You can imagine this as a grossly downplayed version of US versus ISIS.
At the end of the day, i didnt even get to pull the trigger once. Which meant my team did an awesome job of defending and attacking!
I thought had everything nicely planned out, but forgot to play with the mentality that we were supposed to whack the terrorists. Instead, i distributed the men accordingly to react and ambush, of which never happened. At the end of the day, it was about my team rushing into "their" territory and picking them off 2 by 2. Which worked out really well as everybody worked in their mini teams together, communicating and relaying information back to me. Because of that, i was very aware of the situation as to where the enemies were, which areas been searched, how they are spread out. With these important information, i was able to organize a systematic flush out of the enemies so good job to my team!! they were of such great sport!
Guest starring: Phang from Malaysia! How to recognize everybody when they are fully covered up. x.x
Xplorer War 23 was really fun, we tried out using the maps which proved to be extremely useful in knowing the positions of my "fireteams", the little groups that i had within my team. Which allowed me to plan more systematically for their movements, since i dont have a knack for memory work. My arms were so sore as we reached the end of the game as my Xskull was REALLY heavy, because of the external shell and the scope. The base chassis of the XSkull is pretty light actually.
VERDICT for the test of my equipment:
1. Loving the performance of my XSkull now as i did test fire a couple of times. Shots are definitely better grouped because the previous barrel was too tight. I cant really tell if it's hitting further, doesnt really matter to me that much because it shoots far enough to begin with.
2. Actually i tried out my red wings boots with vibrant soles (like those army boots soles, not the white sole) in this war also, just to feel how it would be like and it was pretty comfortable! More of tight forming to your foot as compared to the comfy feel of the delta boots that i use. So it is not necessarily better, just different.
3. The Gopro skeleton housing works AMAZING. Sound quality is so much better, although you forego waterproofing, which is fine by me. Depending on your use, you might want to "blackout" it or camouflage it like what i did. However, i am currently considering getting a mini external mic for it, just to test the sound quality differences. Plus i can use the mic for my video recordings outside of nerf. Travel, school assignments recording, etc. plus its really small so yep.
4. The wallet-bleeding brainexploder helmet NVG mount wasn't satisfactory to me this time because of the camera angle. It recorded too high, thus missing out certain details like when i looked down to look at the maps or discuss with team members. Then again, i have a helmet cover on, so it may have affected the camera angle, Previously, i was using the metal helmet NVG mount with the Gopro sticking out, along with an external battery pack attached to the gopro. However because of the whole big casing, whenever it was adjusted to touch my helmet, the recordings were pretty accurate regarding my field of vision, despite the video making it seem a little as though you have eyes higher up.
