I am a university student who loves chocolate! Coffee is my best buddy when it comes to taking on my finals. I have a tendency to want to try and do so many different things at once and as a result, I've found my hobbies to be as such!
Nerfing is one of them, but aside from that, I also love arts and craft. I have my own startup, Thumbforlego at: where I sell my works!
I love to do all sorts of crafting, so you will see me uploading posts of my leathercrafts, thumbdrives, replica guns, nerf gun modifications and gundam models! I'm fortunate enough to be blessed by really supportive parents and given the chance to explore many, many parts of the world and try out a plethora of activities. This is also how I discovered my love for film photography, videography and piano.
The film photo above is unedited! My family loves cold countries xD. We managed to catch the northern lights twice!
I've also gotten the chance to experience many of nature's wonders
And my most freezing experience to date: riding a husky ski sled into the sunset (It was -38 to -40 degrees celsius and the huskies were pretty fast.)

Why 36000feetabove? This is the altitude that commercial planes cruise at and I have always loved the view up in the sky, being amongst the sea of clouds. :) Personally, my favourite favourite food has got to be airplane buns! Does anyone else feel the same way?! With a slice of butter and looking out of the window, I have yet to find an experience that can beat that.
After tomorrow, before today

wow i am blogging this in the middle of the night xD actually its 6.11am, just right in time for many school students to drag themselves out of bed and on to school but not for me! I have a long break for me this time round, just before our fall semester starts. It feels kind of weird that it's back to fall again. As in I came into uni during summer semester since we have a trimester programme and now throwing this one year back, it would have been only my second semester for my uni life. After one semester, you kind of know how things work out, how lessons are like, the expectations of you during class and group work, of which many have yet to be that involved. You have to be that involved i must say. Afterall, our course of Communications is a pretty cliquish course because of all the group work. Its hard to make out of how an individual will fare without a clique really. Oh yes, why am i awake? Currently feeling feverish (all the more i should sleep) and i feel like puking too thanks to indigestion (yup, should totally head to bed) but the thing is that i cant stand it when my bed is hot, so when i am having a fever, its hard for me to rest. and also that uncomfortable tummy of mine isnt giving me a good time either :( so... i guess i will stay awake and blog huh? by the way, i am listening to this song while blogging.not a fan of such songs, but yeah, just some background music to keep me company. It just appeared as one of the top hits for singapore eh? ahhhh i am yawning like mad but i dont think i can sleep man... sigh and i kinda had my breakfast as supper so....maybe i will go hunt for some food in the fridge! Anyway, update on my knee! yes yes, I just finished the MRI scan, my 3rd one to date. And it costed $600 ouch. just for the MRI scan without any consultation or whatsoever. Mind you every time i visit the doctor, that's about $100 leaving my pocket. However, thanks to my Medicare card, all of the $$$ above just becomes $15!! SUPER AWESOME. now i feel like some government-propaganda advert. It's kinda crazy though, that i've had various treatments over the past 4 years, from physiotherapies to medications, injections, and finally, its down to the last straw: operation. Frankly. i am not looking forward to the operation. In fact i have a feeling that i might develop body integrity identity disorder lmao. but hey bottom line is that if this operation is going to give me my intensive runs and painless climbing up of stairs then I am all for it man. According to the doctor, it will only complicate things later on and it's been 4 years, so it is worth operating on. Mum just bought a car polishing set for me!! As in the buffering wheel machine and polish and wax and so far i have been practicing it on my car and it seems to look pretty good i must say! lolol it's actually working out xD the first time i did, it turned out matt finish which was like wooot! something went wrong somewhere, my car from a glossy finish became a matt finish i was like oh great... but i rubbed and rubbed like mad with a cloth and it worked! the shine came back lolol. Omg listening to music on my Siberia v2 headphones and it sure is awesome :P It's been very long since i last touched my headphones as using my speakers are way more convenient. Now, i feel like practicing my piano instead xD okay okay car polishing right. AHHHH so far i painstakingly did one layer of polish for all except the sides of the car and maaan it looks as good as new?! its so crazy xD but am totally digging the "new" look. Its like as though the car just came out from the showroom hehe. So glad with how it looks now :) but then again its pretty time consuming, but at least this is my car and i do it by myself, pretty much like how i prefer to wash my car by myself. Well now i am on to polishing up mum's car! not even done with mine heh. Thursday, August 13, 2015
wohoo! i can finally take a breather and blog :) reason being i just handed in my report!! i took social conflict and its resolution module for this summer semester (yes we have summer school which sucks) and man surely lessons are easy because you just need to participate from time to time, leaving you ample time and opportunity to wander off into facebook but MAN WAS THE FINAL REPORT HARD. It was based off our past readings all the while, thank God i did those readings, at least some of it, but not all. He has like BOOKS for us to read like hell no im gonna finish that?! true enough, i did not. We had to write a 7-8 page report on whether there is such thing as a mental illness, what ails us in society; whether is it truly social conflict? Because social conflict doesn't simply happen overnight, but rather the build up of emotions etc etc over time, based on context. man it's been a tiring weekend, even though everyone else hopefully did enjoy the long weekend! on thursday, i had the human dominoes event, which FINALLY HAPPENED after so many days of reaching out to recruit people for the event, and theses are the final photos of the end result!! i was the person running from "G" to hit "5" lolol SG50 bruh.
I had usual school and gym on thursday, followed by the event taking up pretty much of friday, saturday.....was busy. i cant remember what...doing my readings too, sunday was national day!! What i like about this year is how singaporeans have become more patriotic for our country as well as being more supportive. Like even though theres still i would say a certain degree of unhappiness in our society, it has since lessened i feel?
This year, i was lucky enough to have 4 seats to celebrate the nation's birthday with thousands of singpaoreans at the floating platform!! surely it "wasn't as fun" as the Padang where all the action took place, but man are you wrong. I personally felt that the floating platform was where all the fun was!
Since everyone already knows what happned for national day, i'll just cut to the chase and blog about the parts that impressed me the most! i love LOVE LOVE the emcees!! this is the FIRST time ever that i actually like the emcees. for the past history of national day parades, i am sorry but i never took a liking towards the emcees. ours was irene ang and erm this guy from Power 98FM... i cant remember his name. As always, bad with names. But why they partocularly stood out from all the others, at least to me, was because they were quite honest?? they weren't pretentious sort of hyping up the congregation. etc etc but rather, i remember irene ang vividly saying "okay the camera later will pan at us, so we got to wave our flags and make it look like we are very excited okay! we also don't know where are they going to start, so everyone must do ah! wah don't like previous rehearsal, the camera pan then we like kenna sai so cui!" something along those lines, i cant remember the exact words used. could be the exact words. But that's what i like about them! we also didnt have the red lions landing at our side, all at the padang, so they introuduced us to the two lion mascots i think from the youth olympics or something lolol they were like "bopian lah this is the best we have, so we make do okay?" SO HONEST LOL. rather than the usual pretentious hype up of audiences that they usually do. The other part of the show that i liked the most was the aerial fly past!! i really wish they could have done so many more stunts and and showcase more airplanes love helicopters too :) i've always loved airplanes since young, fascinated by how they fly. This year, we also saw a lot more flybys along with the "50" formation flying by too which was pretty darn awesome. These are the two parts of the NDP that amazed me the most, and oh yes the fireworks!! they were brilliant, i came early with my family so we got really good seats that could see all the fireworks! afterall, that is why we are at the floating platform! mind you we had to watch NDP through huge screens at the front. Surely the atmosphere is less hyped up than that at the padang, but we are there mainly for the fireworks and the aerial displays! and of course, i got a good chance to take nice videos of them, this time no photos, since i am really bad at taking photos of crazy airplanes. best part of aerial display? the Singapore a380 plane decked out in SG50 clothes. you can see it in the last video at 47:44! okay, this time round, i had my camera mounted on a tripod and taking video of the whole fireworks spectacle. too bad my camera has it a little blur though! :( the fireworks itself starts at 6:30 but hey its good to record how the ambience is like before the fireworks! You can click here for the photos of the airshow! This airshow is different from the NDP aerial display, although the black knights put this together and showcased the days leading up to the parade :) Black Knights@SG50 Aerial Display! it's been so long since i last said the pledge but man am i proud to be a singaporean :)

Once again, it's been a crazy weekend! Being packed to the max as always, i am finding this schedule of mine so hard to keep up, but whatever! i still do believe that i can cope and wouldnt burn out....i think! Everyone needs their time of rest once in a while and i haven't had mine for some time already. (a few months) life has been hectic and it always is! well at least next week is national day weekend and i am hoping to catch up finally on some beauty sleep~ hope that happens! Oh speaking of national day, my family is lucky enough to have gotten tickets to celebrate the nation's jubilee year at the floating platform, where all the fireworks will be happening! and and and i caught a glimpse of the airshow and ITS SO GOOD :D I just cant wait when Singapore Airlines flies their A380 overhead!!!!! haha i just super super duper love planes :P i wish i can fly an airplane!! i dont think i will enjoy the feeling of flying, but i enjoy the feeling of flying in an airplane. flying as in hypothetically if i can fly like flap my flabby arms and fly.Recently, I just went for the Planetshakers concert! It is a Christian band from Australia and our church sings quite a lot of their songs. It was a really awesome time spent with my cell group, we finally went for a Christian band concert together :) it was a great time of praise and worship at Star Vista, but tickets came at a pretty hefty price of $98.80 for Cat 1 tickets, after a 30% discount. So that is like $120 per ticket? Planetshakers concert was really entertaining and fun, but the presence of God i felt wasn't as thick as in church, except for some portions! Frankly speaking, if i compare it to the LKY musical which is SO DARN AWESOME, the ticket prices are just about the same? So if you ask me if you have $120 to spare for a performance, hands down, go for the musical. Anyway, the Planetshakers should have already moved on to their next stop for their world tour? or is it asia tour... i think asia. But anyway, the LKY musical is a total must watch, it is really really good i feel :) Recently, i have also finished with the paintjob of the nerf thunderbow paintjob and only managed to take brief photos due to a really rushed schedule of mine :/ wished i took more photos though! but i am glad that the person liked the work!! :) so here are the little photos that i have You can see a tinch of red there as i kept the internals original to keep the priming or the operation of the blaster as smooth as possible! And by the right side of the photo, you see a satisfied customet's right foot. Moreover, i am spending quite a fair bit of time preparing for our SG50 Human Dominoes event! It's going to be held at scape on 7 August and it is going to be a fun time of flash mobbing down orchard road :D I've been going to schools and trying to garner support from the public HAHA seriously for me, it feels really weird because i am not used to doing such things in the first place. In fact, i am really so not 'good' at inviting people or asking people to come for the event. just bad at all of these asking things when it comes to asking the public. whereas asking friends to come along i felt was so much easier! I dont know what's with me and blur photos nowadays, lmao i keep snapping blur photos?! ehhh really bad photography from me lolol but anyway, we have been testing out the event, falling on each other to ensure that it does hurt. Afterall, its a human domino so safety might be a bit of an issue! But really, i hope that after all the hard work that we have put in and all the mustering of courage to approach the public, i hope that the people coming will enjoy our event! It's seriously tiring when you actively reach out to people and invite them for the event so that we can make it a really big one! The first few times and the first 10-20mins of asking around the public, it seems pretty easy, but as time goes by, then you find it really draining and then it gets draggy and you're like "okay maybe i should retire for today". That's all for this post!! Have a great week ahead guys! :) maaaan i'm falling sick. |
