I am a university student who loves chocolate! Coffee is my best buddy when it comes to taking on my finals. I have a tendency to want to try and do so many different things at once and as a result, I've found my hobbies to be as such!
Nerfing is one of them, but aside from that, I also love arts and craft. I have my own startup, Thumbforlego at: where I sell my works!
I love to do all sorts of crafting, so you will see me uploading posts of my leathercrafts, thumbdrives, replica guns, nerf gun modifications and gundam models! I'm fortunate enough to be blessed by really supportive parents and given the chance to explore many, many parts of the world and try out a plethora of activities. This is also how I discovered my love for film photography, videography and piano.
The film photo above is unedited! My family loves cold countries xD. We managed to catch the northern lights twice!
I've also gotten the chance to experience many of nature's wonders
And my most freezing experience to date: riding a husky ski sled into the sunset (It was -38 to -40 degrees celsius and the huskies were pretty fast.)

Why 36000feetabove? This is the altitude that commercial planes cruise at and I have always loved the view up in the sky, being amongst the sea of clouds. :) Personally, my favourite favourite food has got to be airplane buns! Does anyone else feel the same way?! With a slice of butter and looking out of the window, I have yet to find an experience that can beat that.
After tomorrow, before today

As always, being the busy person i am, i've been really worn out after all of the activities for the week! Desperately need to find time to rest though. Anyway, i thought i would blog about this weekend! it's been a really eventful weekend i feel, even though i am all weary from a tiring week, i just know that time has been "well spent". While strolling along Purvy street, i bumped into a sketching class where people were learning how to draw! man it looks so interesting, also because i have been doing quite a lot of drawings lately! As you would wonder from the title of this blog post :)
A great deal of time from this weekend was also dedicated to my ENFJ buddy!!! I am in the same catch as her, hence taking many same modules together (hopefully more) and also, we attend the same church! So i practically see her everyday, except for this summer. We caught the LKY musical together, and it is SO GOOOOOD highly recommended to watch it, even more so as it is a well-produced local production. Our arts scene in Singapore is really quiet and dormant as compared to other countries, so go support!! I especially loved how the character of our late founding father Lee Kuan Yew was played out, along with his fellow friends and wife. The feelings instilled were so real and also not forgetting the background sounds, they were filled with emotions too! Really impressed. The LKY musical was also a history lesson as i learnt about LKY's past. Even though i think i do know quite extensively about his past, there were new angles and elements in his life that was portrayed in the musical, which i felt was...all encompassing. I highly, highly recommend anyone to go watch the LKY musical and learn more about the history of Singapore and how we became an independent nation, the vision of being a multi-racial society. It was so good, that when it came to the part when LKY cried because of Singapore breaking away from the Merdeka merger, streams of tears and sobs could be heard within the audience. I shan't spoil the musical for you, but if able to, I highly recommend buying the tickets! Thank God really for having such awesome seating, i was lucky enough to book the last two CAT 1 seats in the front portion of the hall and got a really really good view of the massive three storey set! I watched on the saturday which was mad mad crowdedddddd, even the MBS carparks were closed to heads-up to you drivers out there, do find parking at the Grand Hyatt and walk over if need be!
Beverly and I were lucky enough to also catch the aerial display for the National day parade rehearsal! It's really such a pity LKY cannot be there to witness and celebrate the nation's birthday :(
On a more jovial, light-hearted mood, I came back from Xplorer War 14!! yep that's me in the photo below. It was a really fun time hiding around the bushes and using the leaves as cover hue hue hue :P so many times i got saved by those big leaves. Of course i did video down our game, although not the entire thing as halfway through, my memory card ran out of space LOL. epic man, i forgot to check. and i left out my extra batteries too. I guess that's what happens when you only sleep 3 hours before an Xplorer War heh. but it was still so much fun! just spending time with the group and testing out new equipment and darts. I tried a new way to glue the darts but doesn't quite seem to be working out...that kinda sucks~
But yes yes, THIS is what i have been busy for the past few weeks; drawing on papers, having multiple sketches, cracking my head on what kind of design and how to go about doing it, having the same "feel" throughout the blaster... this is my design at 60% completion i would say? there's still many more details and changes tobe made but the shape is out already :) The angles and all are a pain in the ass to settle, especially when you are dealing with 3D software ugh pukes. and also making it into a shell so that the internals can fit within. So far, progress is slow but there's no choice when you're dealing with freeform lines. :/ Oh yes, it is a shell for Nerf guns, or rather for Xplorer custom blaster LOL forgot to mention that. Hopefully this would be practical too! im not too sure, but definitely it gets me pumped up to finally see my design coming to life! Saturday, July 18, 2015
HAHA omg i just realised i did not blog last weekend lolol reason being i have been really busy, still am busy. Mainly because of my design sketches and also readings for school. All this while studying communications, i never had a "chance" to do readings. For some weird reason, we just didnt have much of such. Whereas this half of summer semester, the remaining 6 weeks, i am taking Social Conflict and it's Resolution which is a psychology module. Which comes with tons of readings! Of which i only realised after my first lesson! Funny thing is that we have been learning and reading a lot on Max Weber and watching films, and understanding social conflicts but i have yet to really learn or come across much of its resolution.it's funny how i think that 1 post per week doesnt suffice to depict my life but who cares! i'll just post whatever i like. Whereas there are times when it seems so boring and how little things seems to be happening in my life. You know when life becomes like clockwork, always the same thing that is set on repeat. Last week was particularly tiring as by the time i was done with church and dropped my friend Jolly home, it was already 2am+ and then on impulse, i decided to try and find brother who was doing his 24km route march. Wait or was it last last week. heh i think it was 2 weeks ago LOL wow that's how long i haven't blogged. i did a mad rush zooming around the different locations trying to spot brother lolol and my final spot was at the marina barrage where i spotted the, walking! i think i just missed him then. Still, it was pretty interesting. I myself did not do the route march as i had a bad knee, and i still do, currently still trying to recover from my injured knee that i sustained during my last 2 weeks in BMT. It;s been 5 years, not healed yet. Doc say's it may be a life injury so it that's so then that sucks! But still does not stop me from exercising, but not too vigorously. I got the injury just before the 10km route march and Field camp+SITtest but still decided to press on with a grossly oversized knee, dismissing the pain that it was just temporary. APPARENTLY NOT. anyway, i later realised after the scans that it was partially disconnected. Which means only half the knee was in contact, sideways. So 5 years from then, i am still reeling in from my injury. Lesson learnt: know your limits. this is my BMT story! The rain was really really heavy and with strong winds, they became really painful! as you can tell by how the people behind seemed to be dying. I pretty much gave hope on my raincoat 10mins into the rain and whipped out my phone for some nice rainy shots. funny thing is that my waterproof xperia z3 had water seeping in. It was working fine, but still sent it in for servicing. God knows what happened LOL. I usually swim with my phone and wash it with soap nearly everyday and it survives. This time, under the rain, it decided to drink some water. I decided to upload this photo as it shows the candid-ness of all of the recruits/sergeant, along with the backdrop, the camaraderie that they display after doing through basic military training together. The funny thing is that Bro's "independence day" also falls on the USA's Independence Day, 4th of July! quite fitting huh! but too bad he has yet to ORD. :P yes, after the rain and my tired-as-hell face. and who can forget those eyebags man? They're so big they are like pillows for my eyeballs man. and this is why you use a tripod, because it can double up as a freakin' huge selfie stick or monopod woots! Anyway, one week of holiday has passed for my brother and he got his posting. He got posted into the Navy! It's called CBS system operator. Sounds pretty darn interesting and fun! am glad that he is loving his training now and more importantly the culture inside the navy. especially the not-rank-conscious environment that he is now exposed to, just like how I too enjoyed my time serving national service in the Air Force. He just had 1 week of training and is now back home with a surprise for me! He got a chance to go to the gift shop! (what in the world) And bought this Navy bag for me xD With the $50 that he brought into camp, $20 was spent on the bag and $20 was spent on the pin because he said the bag looked way better with the pin. So he was left with $10 in camp. I honestly don't know what pin is that but i am thankful for having such a thoughtful brother! Who knows maybe at the end of his training he'll buy a frigate back for me trollololol. but still, thank God for having such an awesome brother! :) Tuesday, July 07, 2015
man it's so crazy and so fast summer school is back! just after about 3-4 days of break. of which of course i squandered away those days through drawings after drawings of custom nerf guns xD it's a really tiring process and you'll be surprised how long it actually takes for a person to come up with the design?? like there are many changes, etc etc and every time you draw, you need to see if it fits for the overall design. like yes here you see a pretty much finalized design but there were so many changes beforehand, erasing of lines, brainstorming of ideas, its really not easy creating a product man... the end product is going to look prettyyyyy different from this because of the shape but....i just hope that it will turn out real sweet when its done! now come to think of it, i feel like relooking at the final design if there is something else that i can improve on... xD you soon become pretty addicted to your design i must say! like you keep wanting to improve it, whether functional or for looks, working within limits because you dont have $999999999 inside your wallet. neither do people. (or maybe)but overall it's been a fun time designing custom nerf blasters! of course i do have some completed designs with me already. there's so much more designs to try and draw out, to put together with the rest of the blaster to see if it blends xD because sometimes, the part that you design may end up looking out of place from the whole blaster so it will look kinda weird, unless you are trying to achieve that effect. coming back to summer school, today school resumed again! and of course it kinda sucks, given how my weekends were so packed up with church activities. I really needed some time off to rest, still do need that time, still trying to find that time LOL i guess i never really give myself ample rest. and fail so badly at time management in the sense whereby i squeeze too many things into the limited time that i have. not good. But anyway, i guess i feel the sense of achievement, that i managed to accomplish many things within a certain time frame. Although that means tiring myself out pretty much... its funny how i think that i'll have time to rest when a break seems to be looming ahead but nope never happens HAHA but hey, super thankful for all my friends around me always hearing my tired whines and putting up with my annoying behaviour :P At the end of the day, we never walk alone. |
