Proud to be a child of God, a faithful son (I hope lol) a trying to be hardworking student, a part-time worker, a nerf/milsim enthusiast, a crafting and music lover and an awesome friend. to you :) Hope you have an enjoyable time reading about my life, as much as I have fun living it! |
Minimalist
I am a university student who loves chocolate! Coffee is my best buddy when it comes to taking on my finals. I have a tendency to want to try and do so many different things at once and as a result, I've found my hobbies to be as such!
Nerfing is one of them, but aside from that, I also love arts and craft. I have my own startup, Thumbforlego at: where I sell my works!
I love to do all sorts of crafting, so you will see me uploading posts of my leathercrafts, thumbdrives, replica guns, nerf gun modifications and gundam models! I'm fortunate enough to be blessed by really supportive parents and given the chance to explore many, many parts of the world and try out a plethora of activities. This is also how I discovered my love for film photography, videography and piano.
The film photo above is unedited! My family loves cold countries xD. We managed to catch the northern lights twice!
I've also gotten the chance to experience many of nature's wonders
And my most freezing experience to date: riding a husky ski sled into the sunset (It was -38 to -40 degrees celsius and the huskies were pretty fast.)
Leave a message after the tone
Why 36000feetabove? This is the altitude that commercial planes cruise at and I have always loved the view up in the sky, being amongst the sea of clouds. :) Personally, my favourite favourite food has got to be airplane buns! Does anyone else feel the same way?! With a slice of butter and looking out of the window, I have yet to find an experience that can beat that.
After tomorrow, before today

sorry guys for the late post!! i've been really really busy these days with schoolwork aaaand making a birthday present! :) lately, i just finished my mid terms so i spent the week relaxing quite some bit, catching up on some much needed rest! also....we got back some mid terms results and i felt like i did kinda meh.... not too good i guess? but i am glad that it is over! well it's only my mid terms that is over but some of my friends are alwready totally done with school which i am like errr....that's fast! looking ahead, given the busy uni schedule. we still have finals in december... and before that, the gap is filled with various projects, and assignments! hope it doesnt get too much!life has been largely mundane? i've just updated to the new Mac OS, OS X Yosemite aaaand it just feels very iphone-ish! the icons take on a very minimalistic approach which i found it disappointing as it is taking on the same as the ios7/8. I am not digging this standardization, although certain icons like the finder icon and game centre got a nice update, looking a lot more vibrant! I feel that given how big the macbook screen is and with retina display, apple could have done better to improve the icon in my opinion...with so much space on the macbook, i very much prefer having those 3d-ish icons of the past just that they could have worked on them. so that there is still some difference between the usage of a macbook and an iphone..i've been using Yosemite for one whole day already since the 30min update in the morning, but it doesnt seem worth it updating... downloading takes 15mins, installing the OS and all takes approximately another 15! I initially thought that yosemite would be a nice upgrade for my Mac OS but i seem to be wrong....grossly wrong. Changes that i found in Yosemite: There is this dark mode now? to allow more comfortable usage in the night i tried it, kinda ummm,..nah. the finder icon has definitely become a whole lot HAPPIER, plus point although.... the other icons have like a foot in the grave. the sound adjustment sound is gone, which is a good thing IMO although the graphics for that is really horrid. absolutely NOT digging the new designs. it just looks like a shabby job slapped onto my mac. most obvious, the 3d dock is gone, replaced with a translucent dock, same thing for the drop down menus which is a nice touch, but the dock now looks horrible. theres slight change in the system preferences... There are changes too in pages and messages, not really obvious... and who uses messages anyway? My verdict, Yosemite came just in time for halloween. Now on to whatever that's in my life!! I'm currently feeling quite....ballistic. parents. Just last weekend, we just had an event for LAN gaming, it was a fun time having lots of friends coming down for the event!! i guess im just feeling really tired now for some reason....like really worn out from the week although it just started LOL i shall put the blame on monday blues aye? Currently, i am still working on my Gundam Unicorn full armour, still in the slow and tedious process of painting and building... handpainting the whole thing darn. So that's one project, the next one i am doing is nerf related! just simply trying to refill all my darts by making a whole lot more, about 300 to be exact... somehow i have very little darts left? gahhh what else do i have on my hand... ah yes i also have Xuan's aeroplane which im just secretly laughing at myself because i am decking it out and it's gonna look real different from the original product xD so that's three projects on hand!! lastly, is my most important project which is a 21st birthday present gift for my close friend! I'm so tempted to upload photos of it, but nahhh shall keep it as a secret until this coming weekend is over! So yeah i am working on 4 projects concurrently...Here are some clues to the present! I've been spending lots of time on the product, it requires a template, it is something that i have never done before, neither have i ever worked with the raw materials before! which means....its NOT wood, or metal, or plastic. ;) and it requires quite a lot of effort (lol also cuz i'm new to it) That's all the clues that i am giving!! happy guessing!! i will have a post on it when has been opened up by the recipient! i'm just hoping that i can do up the present properly lmao. i dont know if my workmanship would be good enough, but still trying! LOL as usual, i sporadically did not post anything last weekend whoops :P well reason being that i was really busy!! now, theres mid terms for this coming week and the next whichhhh kinda sucks? but oh well it gotta happen. and we just had our last test what 2 weeks ago? anywway, life now for me feels kinda meh. not that there's nothing much going on in my life, (there always will be) but rather i just have that very sian feeling. Sian = meh = bored. on the brighter side, mum got me an iphone6!!! and on the even brighter side, mum got me a Xperia z3!! :Dwhat happened was that i forgot that my xperia Z already lost its waterproofing gasket and went ahead with the usual wash and scrubbing with soap... and it didnt make it through the gushing water. under normal running water, it still was fine! Sony claims that that phone can only go underwater for 60mins, with a depth of 1m. So far, i've tried swimming laps with it, diving to 1.6m and it still works perfectly fine! now my trusty Xperia Z just does not have its power button functioning but still starts up somehow lmao ( i cant off it ) i was ecstatic when i first received my xperia z3!! it looks aesthetically so pleasing, with a sleek aluminum body. Not to mention, the preorder came with a magnetic charging dock which screams awesomeness and a bluetooth headset which will never see the daylight judging on my usage. But it's still so so awesome to have the phone in my hands!! I've always been a sony fan, from the walkman phones to the cybershot phones, but pushing aside all biased-ness, i honestly feel the xperia Z being superior over the iphone6. yup you heard it, the xperia Z, not the Z3. Frankly speaking, getting the itouch is good enough, since you dont fiddle much with the apps and all, but just the occasional hitting of the volume buttons when you're on the go. The Z has wayyyy superior camera abilities, and the screen is just so crystal clear!! Even the keyboard is better. Aaaaand i've used the iphone before pretty extensively, along with the itouch. and the Z battery life is on par with the iphone 6....which is kinda disappointing considering the two year tech gap that is present. As for storage wise, that is the only thing that the iphone6 triumps over the xperia Z, with 126gb as compared to my 32gb memory card. but then again memory cards can be swapped out and shared! Lastly, the Z3 clearly triumphs over the Z, in terms of both exterior and interior. shooting in super HD instead of the HD videos from my Z. Totally awesome!! and the three phones compared today, i did not have lag issues with any of them! OKAY this blog post is not supposed to be about handphones. I've had such a great time warring it out on saturday! i went for my usual monthly nerf game and it was really fun! Finally got to let my new blasters see some war action, and it did have some bits of carnage too! and i lost a lot of darts T.T back to the dart making things again~! one day. There's currently too many things on my to do list...and i desperately need time to clear them up, but putting priorities first, i dont know how these hobbies of mine are gonna be cleared. Have 1 plastic model to do, of which is definitely seeing slow progress, and my darts are running out and i dont want to eat into my reserves for darts. But it was really fun!! donning the vest and all to battle with my friends, that's what fun is xD because we play it all tactical, it's really different from nerf eh! frankly speaking it feels more like airsoft? judging from our loadouts and ranges that we are hitting. The fun part is also from getting hit! because there is a short sharp sting of pain, you would definitely want to dodge and take cover! it's something that you surely cannot rambo through.. so all so it makes it more interesting with adrenaline pumping. Also with all your gears, you can't run as fast, your body movements become more limited, so you got to take those into account! There was this instance when i ran and jumped for cover behind the tree, all these on a slope, and because of the bulkiness, i ended up slamming against the slope and sliding down HAHA fail much, but that's the whole fun part of playing these xplorer wars! it's the more extreme version of nerf i guess? nerf sees more running and gunning whereas this one is more about finding proper cover and having tactics to beat your opponents. Usually we carry one primary and one secondary blaster! Since i am on a saving money mood, and dont want to spend on new accessories and am broke and dont want to splurge on new helmets and all, i looked to SAF haha! well since they already given us the iLBV, army uniforms and all, might as well put it to good use. Anyway, it's a closed door event so the public cant see lmao. The photo below shows me slacking behind the tree HAHAH it can get really tiring at times alright!! which explains why both of my knees are on the ground. As the match drags longer and longer, it becomes increasingly tiring actually!
As you can see, thats my primary blaster! a long range one. Whereas as the rounds changed later on, depending on situation, i had to use my secondary instead, which is the blaster below!
This one is more for CQB, close quarters combat. Based on your playing style, you'll buy different blasters to suit it and all! :) its much shorter than my primary, meant for more rapid firing, sacrificing range. It's purely up to the individual to find a blaster and customizations to his own style and all! That's the fun part of nerfing too, that we have to experiment and try out blasters to find what suits our style best, see the situations and play accordingly and over time, you build up your accessories, etc etc. With the weight of the iron sights, the target painter, the aiming sights and all, they add up to a considerable weight! like my long range one is pretty front heavy, judging by the size, so i'll have to get used to the weights and all, which makes it all the more fun! Some people travel light, some people bring the big guns, it's all about what's best for you! i just always go in blue. As always (y) cuz it's my favorite color.
