Proud to be a child of God, a faithful son (I hope lol) a trying to be hardworking student, a part-time worker, a nerf/milsim enthusiast, a crafting and music lover and an awesome friend. to you :) Hope you have an enjoyable time reading about my life, as much as I have fun living it! |

I am a university student who loves chocolate! Coffee is my best buddy when it comes to taking on my finals. I have a tendency to want to try and do so many different things at once and as a result, I've found my hobbies to be as such!
Nerfing is one of them, but aside from that, I also love arts and craft. I have my own startup, Thumbforlego at: where I sell my works!
I love to do all sorts of crafting, so you will see me uploading posts of my leathercrafts, thumbdrives, replica guns, nerf gun modifications and gundam models! I'm fortunate enough to be blessed by really supportive parents and given the chance to explore many, many parts of the world and try out a plethora of activities. This is also how I discovered my love for film photography, videography and piano.
The film photo above is unedited! My family loves cold countries xD. We managed to catch the northern lights twice!
I've also gotten the chance to experience many of nature's wonders
And my most freezing experience to date: riding a husky ski sled into the sunset (It was -38 to -40 degrees celsius and the huskies were pretty fast.)

Why 36000feetabove? This is the altitude that commercial planes cruise at and I have always loved the view up in the sky, being amongst the sea of clouds. :) Personally, my favourite favourite food has got to be airplane buns! Does anyone else feel the same way?! With a slice of butter and looking out of the window, I have yet to find an experience that can beat that.
After tomorrow, before today

Another post on Gunpla! hehe those who dont know what is gunpla...hmm.... :/ dont know how you're gonna understand this post but oh well! It took me eternity to find time to do up this blog post! HAHAH sorry guys, i've been really busy at CHC Emerge Bible Boot camp! i had such a blast!! :D it would such a pity if one couldn't come for this!! Yeap, my next blog post will be on the bible boot camp! it's kinda weird that i am attending the bible boot camp, though i just lost my bible last sunday. xD That.... will also probably be my last post before i fly overseas for about 2 weeks! :) Will be back in time for Christmas!! ahhhh and i am still expecting for a package to arrive..so...really hope it comes in before i get flown out! now i sound like a pig getting slaughtered overseas or smth. BACK TO TOPIC.Eternal. What is Eternal FFMH-Y101?? It is actually a transport ship used by Lacus Clyne. Background info, the eternal is a space ship, unlike the archangel or minerva that has the ability to go in and out of space (earth/space) yupp. so technically....the eternal would almost NOT get weathered....unless you consider it getting whacked by meteorites or beam sabers/cannons/explosions. That will be more toward battle-damaged.. For this kit, other than during the compulsory painting as it only comes in a basic ugly pink and white (they are moulded in these colours as a better base for painting lolol) I also went on to do weathering. I didnt do panel linings because the panel marker ink sticks very well to the citadel paint that i use. Citadel paint is actually not from gunpla, they are from warhammer, but the colours are nice at times! :) for this model kit, i used HORROR PINK from Citadel. I actually began to use such paints because i am using citadel paints for my nerf guns xD This is how horror pink looks like, under different lightings, it looks really different, but yeah this is the right colour! :) When i was doing this model kit, all i had in mind was weathering. Oh btw, even the stand is painted. i did a simple matt black for it. :) Weathered and battle worn in a sense whereby you have mechanics coming in to patch up the paintwork,etc etc. So based on this idea, that is how i went about doing the paint scheme, and quite successfully achieved that look, of a not very even look throughout as if you really observe very closely, you can see like the after effect of such paintworks in real life, whereby the colour tone is not quite the same, along with the soot and paint overlapping each other :) This model kit took me approximately a month plus to complete, but the awesome thing is that i worked on this in camp! Which also does explain on why i took so long. Sometimes, it gets boring in camp and people kill time by playing pokemon. I simply bring my model kits into camp and do them instead, since model kits take up so much time to complete!! I took these photos at a later date, which really showcases the chips off, here and there along the body of the spacecraft. kinda bad focus, my bad, i didnt use my tripod...hehe lazy. Left hand = hold model kit. Right hand = hold camera. I used aperture priority for my camera, hence the shutter speed was VERY VERY slow. :/ failed a lot of shots. A few difference angles, to show the difference here and there. yes i did do weathering for the wings too, although they didnt turn out exactly how i wanted them to. the panel linings were achieved in a different way. Instead of coming in with a marker and drawing out the lines, i used a cosmetic powder to have that effect, giving it a certain depth :) I was especially happy with how the engine panel lining turned out :) you can see mini chip-offs on the wings too! Could it have been done better? yes i think so, with more variations of paint colours. I was pretty limited with my budget, which explains only the three different colours i used. Really bad camera focus :/ sobs. It's kinda retarded that i am whining so much over me being so lazy to whip out my tripod, even though it is sitting behind me in a pile of bags. #MingYangLogic The painting process saw me fixing some parts together first, whilst leaving most of it unfixed, so that after painting the relevant pieces, then did i piece it together. This also went for the weathering process, hence there were 2 things in my mind that i had to juggle with, before ensuring that "YES, these two parts can be fixed together". That kinda thing. Amazingly, the paint dries extremely fast, especially in an air conditioned room xD though it isnt advisable to do it in an enclosed room. When painting/weathering, i played around with the cosmetic powder for rust, soot and dirt or something along those lines lolol. And through that, i managed to achieve the whole look! different tools were also used to apply the powder so as to get the required look :) It was really fun to do dry brushing, making certain parts chipped off, and then ALSO weathering SOME chipped off portions to show that there are old.new damages to the ship. So this allows the ship to really come to life, because you are like creating a timeline through the painting process. Here is how the timeline goes, 1. Getting damaged since it goes to war, 2. Goes back to base for repairs and touch up paintwork, 3. Goes back out, obviously more damages, paintwork has to be redone 4. In the midst of all of these, the engines which have been going on fine have begun to show signs of usage by beginning to rust on the surface. Also, gotta consider which parts to fit together first. -.- That's what delayed the entire process! so you cant just weather all at once! super annoying. I also blackened the tip of the gun with soot :) though they use beam weapons in gundam seed....fail, but just for the effects :) Even though EX models, this series that produces the archangel, minerva, etc etc, are very pricey at an average of $75 for a kit that cuddles into your palm, its quite a dangerous thing to play with. As in, instead of using a $30 HG gundam to paint and stuff, if anything crops up or what, it isnt as bad as wasting a $75 EX model. it literally is pretty EXpensive huh! Kinda sad that the photos aren't able to fully paint the extensiveness of the weathering job that i did on the model kit but oh well :/ now all it needs is a box! my shelf has ran out of space to put model kits D: METEOR for those gundam fans. yes it's removable if you're wondering. no its not a razer keyboard. WOW thats a pretty long title huh!! well i've mentioned it a couple of times in camp and on my blog, so here is the post finally! Building these 2 model kits have been of great joy to me! Eternal being one that had me doing a weathered paintjob, although technically it can't really be "weathered" since its a space-only ship. and Valvrave 1 was a really fun build due to the difference of model kit from the conventional gundam models and also because i don't need to paint it! :D Painting is really quite a chore, but it also allows the model to seem a whole lot cooler! really, if you have any old item or whatsoever, if you give it a paintjob, it will look just as good as new! on a sidenote, pffft i just came back from outfield, and got bitten TWICE on my butt. Thank you commando mosquitoes. TWICE. really. sigh! painting model kits can actually get kinda complex and time consuming, as some parts need to be painted first before being fitted together. As such, this gives rise to lots of 'retarding' factors! Despite being relatively very patient, the feeling of me being able to see the completed model kit may cause myself to rush through the painting at times! hence with metallic ver, the kit doesn't need to be painted. but then again, it's not all just yays, i will cover one of the major nays of such.Hmm let's start off with Valvrave Metallic ver shall we? :) DUE TO THE VOLUME OF THIS BLOG POST, I'M LEAVING THE ETERNAL TO THE SUBSEQUENT ONE. so recently i went to AFA 2013, and low and behold, this is the event special kit!! being priced at a whopping $95, i had to really really consider if i wanted it as then, i would use up about half of my personal budget, after having set aside the amount i intend to sow into building fund. Though now when i think of it, my building fund amount is actually impossible to fufill D': i'm gonna need a miracle! Thank God that when my dad found out that i spent such a huge bomb on this REALLY limited edition kit, (wow i seem to use really pretty often eh) he decided to sponsor me $70! wohoo! (y) This is how the original Valvrave 1 looks like in the anime. ![]() And the model kit, take note it's metallic finish, so it looks WAY more shiny than usual. ![]() Sorry for the lousy photo, i will probably try and get a few more good shots of this kit before it tries to find a slot on my already filled up display shelf! One of the YAYs for this model kit was the really nice metallic finish that they had! moreover, in case you are worried about panel linings, just look at the silver lines, making it look all so much more machine! sorry for the bad quality photos, they were taken under VERY bad lighting! my bad :/ I immediately fell in love with the metallic black, what happened is that they spray on a later of chrome silver first, and then a more transparent black over, giving that really nice look, along with those cool silver panel linings standing out because the spray paint cant reach into those gaps! Another plus factor about this kit is all those transparent green plastic that you get!! These plates are really huge! :D and on the model kit, after they are all fixed up, it looks so awesome alright! The clear plastic plate under just shows you all the effect parts that come with this kit, which is a really cool gimmick, i was really impressed when they gave us those effect parts, because they are not present for gundam model kits, unless you get a special version or a pre-order special, then probably. ![]() Because the whole model kit is VERY red, white stickers are a must! but this amount of white stickers...they are kinda of an overkill huh? true enough, i didnt apply all of the stickers, especially the red ones with the emblems on, because that red is a different tone. can you imagine you stick that squarish sticker onto the headpiece? how ugly it would look? Whereas IF the red stickers are like the ones below, which covers up the entire part, then yes it blends! in fact, i gladly applied these stickers, without considering on whether to cut off the red stickers and leave the white outline. having enlarged the photo, you can really see the difference between the metallic red and sticker red! At least the sticker red is reflective too, so it doesn't matt that area. out of the five parts you see there, 2 of it are pasted with FULL red stickers, the other 2 have just the white outline, and the last piece, no sticker. That's why i chose to take photo of this part, because it has all 3 'kinds'! That's the shoulderplate btw. One of the nays that put me off was the difference in paint jobs. Here, i present to you the two identical parts for both arms. It's the shoulder joint to be exact. here, you can see the start difference in terms of the coats of paint used, the top piece has a much thicker and better finish, whilst the bottom piece feels kinda half-past-six to me, although it had that equally smooth finishing as its counterpart. SOME USEFUL TIPS WHEN BUILDING THIS KIT #1. I didn't use up all of the white outline stickers. Reason being, there is really an overkill of lining at certain areas such as the side skirts for this model kit. This is also where the katana sheaths are attached unto. Instead of having the lining all around the side skirts, as in surrounding the skirts, i went for only the bottom portion of the skirts, hence the effect pulls off a whole lot better! This way, you don't get things too 'boxed up' for certain areas. Instead, you achieve a much cooler effect xD note, i went for the BOTTOM linings only. Rather than playing this effect throughout the model kits, i had some areas having the full linings so as to offer some variations. of course let it be symmetrical. -.- #2 Change the flair of the wings. If you notice the first photo of the model kit, the green wings are in an open-swept manner, as in the top wings flair upwards, while the bottom wings flair downwards. In my opinion, this looked pretty dull, since both wings go downwards, giving it a toned-down feel. I wanted something more 'explosive'. The model kit instructions had the wings made in such a way that ALL the wings would flair downwards, like the bottom wing in the photo below. What i did was to simply use the green part for the top wings, swap them around for the left and right wings, WHILE using the original parts for the wing joint or whatever you call it. The other half, black portion of the wing. This means that you follow the instructions on fixing and ONLY swap the green part for both top wings. DO NOT swap the entire wing. The focus is on the wing, that's why the model is out of focus. Now the kit has more flair! :D Looks more dominating now! I leave you with some photos of my completed Valrave 1 Metallic Ver! and a whole lot of rubbish/messy backdrop!

Wooot the weekends are over! D: argh and it's back to the weekdays again, gonna spend 2/5 days for this week outfield, luckily it's just two days, if not i am probably going to die from the lack of sleep. x.x due to a really busy schedule, though i have no idea how it became so packed!! left me with 4hours sleep on the previous night and 3 and half hours sleep last night T.T and tomorrow we're gonna go outfield! #YOLO Havent had much time to catch up with my piano practice too! Last week was uber boring, other than the opportunity to finish building the Valvrave1 metallic ver which looks really nice! i mean just look at THAT!okay dont mind my messy table which have been left uncleared for like 2 weeks xD As you can see, my study table isn't really like a study table eh... Once i have more time freed up, then will i have to start clearing my table once again...I'm kinda pleasantly surprised with myself on how i can do plastic modelling with such a messy table! xD but hey c'mon you gotta agree that the model kit is pretty boss!! The best part about this kit is that you dont have to do any painting xD i still have 3 model kits that need to be assembled/painted. And the painting, effects, etc etc takes up quite a lot of time and effort, whereas this model was more of a fun build! Also, i finished the Eternal, but i am going to do a separate blog post for these 2 model kits! I found myself awake at 5am on Saturday and man did it feel so horrible!! Really wanted to go back to sleep, since i only had 4 hours of sleep as i was busy doing dont know what. -_-"' i remembered being busy with something, but anyhoo, i'm really glad that audit period is over, now the only milestone left before i ord is Battery Proficiency Test. How rare is it to find myself waking up to actually be able to see the sunrise? i mean even in camp, i dont get to see the sunrise as my camp is in Yishun. Let alone being able to wake up at home at such a time! hehe since i sleep pretty late at home, i end up waking up at around 9am on a usual Saturday and 7am on Sunday mornings because of church. The sun looks pretty awesome huh! Not as though it changed shape or colour or whatsoever over the years but from different places, the sun really looks so different thanks to the environment. HAA a sun that changes colour would be kinda cool.Anyway, I woke up so early to run for Aviation Run, being all so busy for audit, i really didnt bother about Aviation Run and almost forgot that it was going to happen yesterday. I soon found myself at Changi Exhibition Hall, which is a really scenic and serene place for you to chill, other than it being largely accessible to cars only. Soon i found out that Aviation Run was actually an annual event held for people from various sectors of the aviation industry in Singapore to gather! and run lol. Ah so we did appear in the newspaper! I was standing inside toward the cockpit area and wanted to take a photo of what it's like from the ground level, seeing everyone raise their placards xD but failed.That's pretty fat or an airplane btw! ![]() Wooot do you see double fingers! :P due to my leg injury, i chose to run 2km instead of the usual 5km. I really want to run 5km, but 2km was really the better choice as i soon felt my knee hurting after my 2km ended briskly. I mean how long does it take you to run 2km?! LOL super fast xD Hehe don't you think it's pretty cool to have an aeroplane in the photo while people from the aviation industry ran? :P Ahhhh i ran it with my fellow signaller in camp, Jay! Due to the glaring glaring sun, i didnt really QC the photos that we took. Moreover, i mistook an elderly guy for a woman. kill me. i was like ma'am can you help us take a photo? :> total douche. This weekend has been a weekend filled with fails for me, i have no idea why!! could be due to the lack of sleep, i end up going round doing everything in a blur blur state. If you think the above photo is bad, look at the photo below. HAHA epic fail xD Give up, we just began to run that 2km. That's even shorter than a 10min run! sooner than we knew it, we were done LOL. MILO TRUCKKKKKKK. I've always wanted to GTA one of these home. and pray that it is already filled with milo lmao. As though my life doesnt have enough fails, this just happened just now! hehe during Bible Study lesson 5, on Praise, as in praise and worship, There was a segment on what we could do during praise. Point 6, Leaping and whirling. Look at what i wrote initially..And the whole class laughed -_-"' Seow Shi said leaping and whirling, (but i heard rolling) and i was like huh?? in my mind i went okayyyy... *pens down rolling* Just for the LOLs, in response of the removal of the purple light song. hey hey this weekend was pretty interesting! last week was just LOADS of last minute rushing out of work, suddenly people began dropping bombs on one another. sigh luckily, i survived World War 3DA, and now i find myself pretty much slacking everyday! (the whole week is audit period) Seriously not used to slacking that much, as in literally having no work to do. Too bad it's a lot harder to "sneakily" do up my model kits because we are supposed to be following the training programme pretty rigidly for the whole of this week. Phew, luckily it's just this week, if not we are all gonna dieeeee. lunch break is literally lunch and back to whatever you need to do. which really sucks. :( but on the other brighter side, we get to be attached to signal platoon which is a lot more slack than Alpha battery! (yay for no extra work!) plus this whole week, we're gonna see ourselves appearing in the gym soon after lunch break and yeah gym for 3 hours. errrrr....but hey! what's there to complain about when you have the freedom to exercise instead of doing work or having to always be in the office!seriously there are 5 signallers, one of us is a total slacker, and incek (warrant officer) doesn't make him guard the office. Instead, he insists that we do so and we get arrowed more work to do. so much for being diligent in doing work! #nomotivation*AFA=Anime Festival Asia* AFA is an event that you CANNOT miss!!!! This week was AFA weekend!! :D If you havent been to an AFA event, then that would be so wasted! It's really really fun to see so many people dressing up as whichever anime characters or whatsoever here and there. I've been so busy lately in camp that it totally brushed my mind. I only got to hear snippets of it happening 'soon'. Little did i know that it was THIS soon! luckily, and coincidentally, the AFA was held in Suntec convention centre! just a floor below my church LOL so i found out about AFA when i went earlier to book seats xD hahaha judging from the sheer number of model kits that i am always building, oh oh in fact, its getting kinda ridiculous because i have 2 kits that have yet to be fixed, one is still in the process, extremely slow process, and i just bought another xD the kit was an AFA special, the Valvrave1, metallic coat ver! it was seriously too tempting to not get it. :P and there goes HALF of my personal budget that i can use after setting aside $$ for Arise and Build. So far... ANYWAY, it's so awesome to be able to see so many cosplayers dressed up in their awesome costumes!! i saw some really epic ones, like a tetris block, as well as a guy dressed up as hentai-kamen! i think THAT is the only time you can wear so skimply and not get caught by the security, although one cosplayer girl who dressed up as Ryuko in Kill La Kill had the police called on her. zzz seriously the actions and reaction of the auntie (or woman for the western country readers) is uncalled for. And it is a cosplay event afterall. What's the point of going to the event knowing that there is a probability of such stuff that ticks you off, happening? The original thread from Hardware Zone, as well as the cosplayer. I really applaud the cosplayer to being really able to portray the character really well and being daring enough to pull off something like this! other than that crazy hentai-kamen guy.. i feel like trying cosplaying! :D but it's so expensive... moreover, it's so troublesome to make the costume let alone the whole outfit... but it seems so fun! talk about learning how to do all the poses and stuff... i took some photos with the cosplayers using my xperia Z though! :D a pity i didnt have my camera with me during that time :/ This year, Valvrave the Liberator and Attack on Titans are the really 'in season' animes. Especially for Attack on Titan, i can say close to a good 10-15% of the cosplayers actually cosplayed as the recon troopers along with the 3D manoeuvre gear. i seriously had no idea that so many people would be crazy enough to do up that prop! SORRY GUYS I JUST REALISED MY POSE FOR MOST OF THE PHOTOS ARE THE SAME. NO IDEA WHYYYYY ![]() That's Yuuno from Mirai Nikki!! I was head over heels when i saw a girl cosplay her, because not many people know about the anime! it's a pretty disturbing anime, for those who are keen on watching it. very disturbing. Parents were beginning to doubt my sanity. ![]()
And then, there is Asuno from Sword Art Online! I also only saw 1 cosplayer dressing up as her... no idea why eh O.o though i saw like 3 Kiritos.
Ahhhhhhh see that green bandage around my right arm? i went to donate blood after mixing with the AFA crowd! Church had a blood donation drive, a pity they didnt really talk much about it during the announcements. Ended up very few people actually donated blood :( ended up having a really fast processing when i wanted to donate blood lmao. went to volunteer for bone marrow too! Apparently i was feeling pretty weak before church service started, but still went ahead to donate blood after service since there are very few opportunities for me to donate. rather, the blood donation centre is at the other end of the island, hence i will never go there! Woah the feeling wasn't good alright! felt really weak after draining out a bag of blood. seriously not a good idea to donate blood when you're already feeling weak. Luckily, i didnt feel dizzy at all, and that is how my 5th blood donation went! :D Even though i was complaining 3 months ago for the absurdly long queue for blood donation, now, i would rather have that insane long queue in front of me, knowing that lots more people are donating blood. i mean like how would you feel if one day our blood banks actually ran dry and we aren't prepared for an emergency or whatsoever!
Going back to AFA, i got a chance to see some new model kits that would be probably released soon? i dont know. IMO, they look more like fan-made artworks, though i saw the grey-ed, uncompleted version online before the AFA.
Nahhh the model kits don't interest me. plus i dont really have much budget for this period! Shuks almost everything inside had to be paid in cash, and it was so agonising that i went on the last day, as almost everything was sold out, obviously the nicer items were cleared off the shelves and having little cash with me, all i could do was to buy an Attack on Titan shirt which was RED in colour :'( not even that traditional GREEN D;
Look at that!! that's the singer Elisa! :D
I really really wanted to buy merchandise on guilty crown, especially posters since for music, i can simply grab em off the internet, whereas for posters, having them shipped over doesn't sound so much of a good idea judging by how fragile posters can get. JUST LOOK AT THAT GUILTY CROWN POSTER OF INORI. D: NOOOOOOOOOO *draws out void from self*
![]() Just LOOK at the crowd!! last year, the event was held at Singapore Expo, and what happens is that the cosplayers posing for cameramen and public pretty much had to share the convention space, making it extremely squeezy! however this time round, because it's held at suntec, there is this open space available at level 3, and it's air conditioned! this is the area where my cell group usually chills after service :) Then the exhibition hall is on level 4! not bad eh? so actually because of this kind of even which sees lots of people cosplaying, i really find this place a lot more suitable than expo as then the cosplayer crowd wouldn't be squeezing with the shoppers in the exhibition hall! Kudos to the planning commitee! (y) though i dont know if they thought of this/intended it to be this way. WOHOO ENJOY THE PHOTOS. okay maybe i shall add a caption for each photograph... now this is where those anime fan boys can start to identify the anime characters! Seriously somehow i find it weird to ask cosplayers if i can have a photo with em O.o even though they are constantly posing for photographers. ![]() That's....Hatsune Miku! WOOT WOOT GUESS WHO I MET!!!! my secondary school friend, Ying Ying!! :D :D I kinda saw her talking about it on facebook during my really busy week and voila~! here, you see the archery instructor from Maplestory!! (forgot name) hahahah ahhhhh i didnt know Maplestory is still alive, thought its filled with Ah bengs and Ah lians.. erm Singaporean slang for....overly egoistic people? *shrugs shoulders* for the western readers' understanding.. erm. we asked them what they were doing? and they said they always do this.. okie! Ahhhhhh.....(insert name) from Fairy Tale! dont know why i cant recall, oh well. NEXT! ![]() And finally, we have someone who cosplayed i dont know who from Black Rock Shooter! :D Seriously i know the anime is like 3 episodes of 15minutes each, dont know if it's longer, but that's all there was when i watched in and since when did this character appear?? O.o If you haven't watched Black Rock Shooter, go watch it!!! It's an anime series that only lasts for a shocking 45minutes if i didnt remember wrongly... or was it 3x30mins. Something along those lines. Really short, but so far, its my favourite anime! :D you know why i cancelled the portion about the building progress of the model kit? BECAUSE I AM DONEEEE WITH THE MODEL KITTTTT HAHAHAH :D :D will do a post on it soon! (y) first time building a valvrave, read what i have to say about it soon! Sunday, November 03, 2013
wohoo! its the end of this week~! okay the wohoo was totally uncalled for, but come to think of it, tomorrow is gonna be another day full of work, and the upcoming days are gonna be filled with work again! *sigh* audit period. Really sucks. But anyway, i'm still wondering why must we book in later tonight. No holiday from Deepavali apparently! Today, Aik Shend asked me about nerf guns, and guess what, i've been so busy that i have been unable to do any work at all for my nerf. moreover, we're trying out having cell group on Saturdays instead, because we end too late on fridays, and its quite some bit of a rush especially for the younger ones. So... now cell group time is standing on my 'nerf' time. So gotta find avenues to free up some time to do spray painting, because i always love to spray in really hot and dry weather. The paint job always comes out nicer this way! (personal preference)OKAY lets start ranting about army shall we! :D even though i have pretty much done so for my previous post, yep yep, loads and loads of URGENT and last minute work that needs to be done, and too bad my friends out of camp cant help me out with the work since they have security restrictions! :( Frankly speaking, i am kinda doubting that we would be able to finish up all of the work.... xD given the amount of ad-hoc work that comes in, you never know man... in fact, i even started doing my own work only after 4pm! until thursday and friday when my workload got lightened all thanks to Kai jie, then did i start to see some considerable progress. Monday to wednesday was pretty bad, due to the amount of work that needed to be cleared, however on thursday and friday, that is when my workload got easier! It was a trying time for me this week due to me being pretty sick. and it was pretty discouraging knowing that other signaller like Naresh, was just slacking and playing MC all the way. Darn chao keng warrior. What irks me is that even when he isn't in camp, we still have more work to do all thanks to him. zzz no choice. It started getting me questioning the whole rationale on why should i even be working so hard? Why strive for excellence in terms of the accuracy and efficiency of my work? Why not just slack it off and not care so much, be a nobody. In addition, looking at the circumstance, it's just National Service afterall. It's not even my job that would affect my future! (die also wouldn't sign on) HAHAHA i'm AFKing in battlefield 4 and still earning points. how cool! xD muahahahaha!! Seriously cant wait for this whole november period to be over, although it's only the THIRD of november. oh someone kill me will ya D: i know that all these shit will be on till about mid november, then will everything chill off and my ORD mood set in, then dec-feb, SLACK SLACK SLACK. hahaha at least that's what i have in plan so far. and just like how the Singapore government websites seem to be having "planned" maintenance after the hacking attempts by anonymous, i've pretty much planned out my looooong break for the end of this year, just gonna spam leave and off for an extended time period. I really dont wanna appear in camp if able to xD anyway, what's the point anyway, since i'm not expecting much work that needs to be done. Forecast myself to go for probably another two more outfields and it would be good. And then i would be having the "where is this place", "absolute douche" look during jan and feb when i have no choice but to stay in camp. Unless incek (warrant officer) is good enough to let me go for off! :P though i highly doubt... our previous incek was a lot more generous with off. Since his mindset was like since you have nothing to do in camp and you have completed all your work, might as well book out! This week's cell group was fun, because we tried to bake cupcakes in a mug! hahaha seriously this is the first time i have ever heard of it, and the only thing that i have ever baked was a new york cheesecake! NEVER baked anything else before in my entire life. in fact, what's cool was that we used the microwave to get the cooking done, instead of an oven. hurray for microwave! Seriously the microwave is an awesome invention man. -.- These few days, i have been ![]() wondering like who invented this, who invented that, and it's more along the line of the items that we use in our everyday lives, because these inventions have saved us loads of hassles! Microwave is one of those really awesome inventions, and how can we possibly forget the fridge! Random thought, its not just about freezing our food but also dead humans too! :D (i think i need a psychiatrist) hey hey hey but i learnt something new in cell group okayyyy. i didnt know that mixing the cupcake mixture could be such a tiresome process, let alone ensuring that the mix is good! i mean like, after mixing, i dont even know how it's supposed to turn out xD lesson learnt: The mix is supposed to come out in a pretty liquid form with no coagulation but thick would be good! (y) zai zai, all thanks to baker johanna who helped me with the finishing up of the stiring of the mix! :D hehe take a look at the before/after photo of mah cupcake in a mug! hey you gotta admit it looks really goood okayyyyy. so proud of my first attempt xD Its pretty obvious on which one is the before and after photo, hehehe eh eh NOT BAD RIGHTTTT the photos stand testimony on how awesome baker ming yang is xD hehe credits to pretty jael for helping to hold the cup! hahaha she's the lucky one who got to eat mah cupcake okay!! :DD it was supposed to be dylan, a newcomer, but he was so nice to let jael have it instead. AWWWW! What happened was that after we baked our cupcake in a mug, we had to draw lots to decide who would actually get to eat our cupcake! hehe and i got Jolly's cupcake, which was nice! :D hehe along with her favourite mug, so i must must remember to return her mug on the next cell group, as we are going to learn how to make another item in a mug! And then today, service was really different because the hall that we used was a whole lot smaller, so we had to really pack everyone in! serving was definitely a lot more different than the usual service because everyone flocked the overflow rooms till they were all filled up. bleah even though we have 3 services, everyone wanted to attend the first service at 10am service, foregoing the 12 and 2pm services. But oh well! it was a pretty fun time serving this weekend because of fun ushers as well as a really slack one because we did internal usher this time round! hehe its been so long since we last directed human traffic. :) it's kinda 'shiok' knowing that you dont have a zone that you have to take care for, instead, you bring people over from places to places as they ask about the new layout. :) hehehe that's us at Missy Stella's opening launch! it's a blogshop catered for women, working class sort. :) no guy's stuff though...hehe the couch at the launch came in really handy for us guys. :) IF YER KNOW WHAT I MEAN! Wowowow like i previously said in the previous post, i didnt even take a single photo with my phone! which explains why these blog posts are going to be really wordy instead. Sorry guys. :/ in my opinion, reading a blog post with just plain words would probably kill me! Anyway, i've been increasingly busy in camp...having lots of admin stuff to settle. never imagined myself as a signaller actually doubling up as a clerk. :( but really, because audit is coming up, we have to start patching up all the holes and filling up all the potholes! Previous blog post was really done in a rush, and when i edited it, then did i realise the amount of errors i made in the blog post! xD fail.Touching a little bit on the DAG family day that we just had, the one thing that i enjoyed the most was the v200 joyride! the v200 is an armoured vehicle that we use, go google image it for a better idea! :) Whenever we go outfield, i have this slot for the signaller (me) to sit inside! however this time round for family day, we were allowed to stand in the vehicle with about half our body exposed on top! Usually i sit totally enclosed in the hot and stuffy amour, with my only source of 'air con' coming from one of the palm-sized holes, right next to my face, at the side of the vehicle to provide ventilation. When we boarded the vehicle, two people to one vehicle, excluding the crew manning, 3SG Damien from Bravo battery asked me if i wanted the v200 to drive fast or slow....FAST LAH. the faster the better! :D and even though the route was really short, it was really fun! i think if it was 2 rounds instead of one, it would be best. :) hahaha oh and when we went really fast, then round the bend, guess what, CWO from our formation, Participation Command was right there. Then he had the panicky face "why are you driving so fast?!?!". Army nowadays is always about safety safety safety, with all the protective parents complaining to the SAF and worrying that their children faint or something. hahaha seriously that moment was quite hilarious, because the rest of us who were on the v200 had that 'bochup' (can't be bothered) face. Especially when we were elevated really high off the ground because of the vehicle, while we was panicking below. Personal opinion, my friends took the other v200, which was much slower and...it looked kinda boring. :/ Guess it's just a balancing scale afterall!Saturday was a pretty mad day but yet fun! early in the morning, i had to leave house for camp, for DAG family day, and then in the afternoon we had a picnic session on top of esplanade. After that, we headed towards suntec city for our awesome saturday service! (yeah i attended sat and sun service this weekend) saturday service somehow just felt different from our sunday service we usually go :P AND in the night, we had CASE2610! the reason why it is 2610 is because the event was held on 26th of october! I really had loads of fun for the event! i was team leader for the event and had so much fun leading my group! :D my group had justin yip, as well as jonathan from another cell group, and the other 3 were justin yip's friends! so half of the group was made up of new friends! :) pretty cool huh? so there is a certain challenge that i had to handle, like trying to bond them together, getting them excited and willing to participate in the games. :) though i forgot one thing, which was to collect their handphone number so that we can stay in contact and build bridges! x.x oh well i guess i'll just have to do that another time.. The event saw us brisk walking, jogging and running to various locations all over Gardens By the Bay! As it was the weekends, a saturday night to be exact, i expected the Gardens to be really crowded! but apparently not, at night. This is my second time going to Gardens by the Bay in the night. First time in the night was on my 21st birthday and we only went to the conservatories since we have the annual pass! Second time, which is case2610, had me with a much more sweaty shirt as we ran around the outside area of it instead. It was fun trying to locate the stations of the minigames that were pretty nicely hidden around the gardens, especially when they had 'chasers' planted around to chase us! Case 2610 is a real-life cluedo game, with inception at the end :P We had to run around to look for various game stations, then upon the completion of the stations, we would be able to get different clues in different forms! then would we be able to try and piece everything together, connect the dots and come up with a theory on how the victim got killed! i really really enjoyed the video segment, especially all edits for sound effects, and the plot was really good! so good that only one out of six teams got it right! xD zai zai. For every station, there was always one person who would need to do the challenge like face painting, or trying to take out slips of paper from a tub, etc etc. and i am really glad that everyone in my team was really participative! :D we all took turns to do it and when one of us had problems completing the challenge, another one would chip in to help! :D YEAH that's the attitude! Coincidentally, my team were nearly ALL from Victoria Sec! only Joshua, from e519, and I were NOT from VS, leaving the remaining people to four! Thank God that i really had so much energy to even reach church super early on the following day, the whole of last weekend was really tiring! pretty much slumped on my bed once i reached home. Usually, after sunday service and fellowship, i will head home to practice piano and blog! but instead, i headed for the bed first xD then piano! hahaha so ended up....this week's piano lesson didnt really go so well due to lack of preparation on my side. Really trying to find the 'best' song to learn. x.x note to self: cannot be too ambitious! there are just some piano arrangements that seem too out-of-the-world. ANYWAY, its friday once again! :D like finally... i tell ya, i've been so busy throughtout the entire week, rushing through work, having tons of backlog to clear and worst of all everything just has to smash together, in terms of events that require lotsa manpower, leaving us pretty shorthanded at times! :/ I spent the weekday nights working and working and working! Somehow the work just takes so long to complete... there is still about 8 more months of work to clear? After managing to rush through almost 4 months worth of work within this busy week. :/ annoying audits. seriously. argh but yes i do understand that they are much needed... if not everything would be in a mess! Even my plastic modelling and stuff have to be put on hold...now i guess i will just concentrate on getting piano settled! Really wished i was still in JC, able to practice the piano everyday! hehe but once december comes....muahahaha! >:) it's time to havocccccc! Reason why i am able to blog now is because the computer is taken by other signallers to finish their work! so since i have no computer to use now, and i cant't work, might as well blog! :D i never expected to do clerical work as a signaller in unit though -.- YES TO ALL THOSE SIGNALLERS-TO-BE, YOU DO CLERICAL WORK. i know my fellow signallers are like clerks in other units...gym clerk also have...COPA too, i thought we always did those AV stuff instead. all those sound systems. I had a really good laugh reading this! Facebook Newsfeed History of the World Hmmm and looks like Anonymous' threat to hack government website seems to be true, 'Anonymous' hacks Straits Times website, anyone wanna wear full black or red on 5 November? :P hehehe i will be sticking to my green uniform since i would be in camp. :> busy in camp. :> |
