hmmm this week in camp, its been pretty boring! not to mention, i had to clear half day off on friday which was like meh. I remembered being busy on my off period -.- like darn oh darn, when am i ever gonna have a much needed and well deserved i think? break. :P life is way too busy! sheeesh people should be embracing lives instead of going for all the paper certificates man. I find intelligence definitely does help you to make your life"better" but then again, having fun is equally or even more important. Currently, im working on a nerf project once again :P i thought of doing it in camp initially! but hey i guess i dont have enough time to do so....so i decided to bring it home instead, plus its MUCH MUCH safer at home. In terms of running afoul on whatever nonsense in camp :) though i must say, having a nerf war in camp.... heh heh heh it sounds just too much of a good idea xD urban ops anybodyyyyy??? plus we can have night urban ops too :P dont you think it sounds really really cool?? plus the guys in camp enjoy nerf guns. :P if only the prices can be similar to that of the US, rather than having like 50 bucks or a gun like dude isnt that way too much for one....any cheaper, it would be a pistol. ugh too puny at times aye?

this week is the last week for us to chill chill. dont know if its a good thing or bad thing, but tomorrow onwards, its outfield all the way!! time should pass a lot faster when we are occupied with work huh. Actually if you ask me, im kinda glad that i am in battery line whereby i get to go outfields here and there, because staying in camp, as in office/pool/gym gets pretty mundane at times. we have out PSP in camp and i can tell ya we actually get bored alright! luckily, i have some books that help to compensate the boring-ness. go outfield, get some sun, get some heat, i dont think its all that bad~ can you imagine if your friends ask you what you do in army and you say oh i stay in the office, and at times, i play sports and head to the gym. like WHAT. thats so boring!!!

Lately, i have been downloading a ton of songs (pure exaggeration) after deleting off my whole library of songs. luckily, i still have the library in my itouch as i havent cleared it out yet. but yeahhhh you know how messy it can get when your songs are not organised, some have names here and there, like some is just the name whilst some have their artist in front, or like a whole bunch of crap or sometimes boxes, since the ipod cant read, last straw man. so now, i deleted off all my other songs and now im just slowly downloading, one by one and meticulously filling in the details of each song. at least im not doing the lyrics! that will be a total killer man. cant wait when i am actually done :D which is like forevaaaaaa. even shrek would have died and resurrected 99999 times dude. really do hope that all these hard work can finally pay off with a really nice music library. :D plus now im pretty stuck in between choices due to the lack of time. there is just so much time that i have during the weekends and frankly speaking, after all the necessities of my life are put into place, im pretty much left with friday night and saturday afternoon. so what are the options for me to do during my chill time? YES NO HOMEWORK. NO SCHOOL PEOPLEEEEEE. okay but i have army, which isnt any better. oops anyway, i have piano, plastic modelling projects....and the doing of the songs, and playing FPS games!! (first person shooter) currently im still on battlefield3 and popping by soldierfront here and there. all of the stuff that i want to do needs LOADS of time poured into them, probably except for computer games since you can simply press quit -.- whereas for the others, its kinda harder to....like for piano, i will be totally addicted and stuck to it, keep practising just to get better! plus this week, practising when really well i guess! some hiccups here and there, but its really hard trying to learn songs all by yourself without any help! :( as much as i think i should get a piano teacher like before, i think the sense of accomplishment would be so much more if i can master the whole song, with its feelings and all, alone.

If only i had so much time to practice like before, during my JC days! darn i miss those days when i could practice everyday, keeping my fingers so nimble and flexible, making the neighbours sick of all my songs. Slowly slowly learning new songs :D plus plastic modelling, ah those may take days to complete man....especially when its a big and troublesome project! troublesome in the sense whereby many areas can actually go wrong. especially when im dealing with air pressure now, everything seems to go bust on me! :( so annoying. Sometimes, even though it works in theory, it doesnt work out in practical. SIGH. So still trying , still trying it out. so you see with all these choices that need a great deal of dedication of time and effort, im totally torn between the choices! so pretty much, i book in every week knowing that its like meh this not touched, oops i forgot to download music. that kind of scenario! come to think of it, i havent finished downloading songs for one artist this weekend. horrible me. -____-

so................last week was super boring! bloody boring. like we literally sat around in camp and did nothing. absolutely nothing other than the usual daily admin stuffs that we got to send out. hmm.......but really what's new in camp when its the june holidays and nearly everyone is out of camp? sadly, us signallers dont really have much avenue to clock any offs since we dont have duties. dont know whether its a good or bad thing! plus nowadays, we can no longer hang around in our bunks, which is...kinda pointless for not letting us do so but then again oh well. so we hang around in the office, waiting to be shot by arrows at. This week isnt any different, but its gonna be the last week before everything gets ramped up again! :( next week onwards, all the exercises start kicking in. The worst part during this lull period, is that all thanks to the haze, there is really nothing we can do in camp! not even exercise. -.- well the good thing about staying in office is that the air conditioning helps to purify the air :D oh yes i havent even talked about the haze!! no i do not have any photos about it....since i was pretty much stuck in camp. well it got so sickening to the point i actually took two days off, thursday and friday! :D to stay at home and slack and recuperate. At first, i thought of modifying my nerf gun! :) but  soon realised that i left the most important tool in camp - the marking knife. T.T NUUUUUU there goes my long break! :( if not, i would have been able to cover quite a fair bid of modifications given such a long time. i hate it when work is done like halfway, and the mess is just left there, with parts laying around for close to a week before i actually get back to work. I would rather just use an extremely long period of time, dedicate it to finishing up a massive load of stuffs and piece it all back together. :)

anyway, yes yes everyone has been mentioning on how bad the haze was. All thanks to the change in wind direction, there isnt really much of haze for this week. Last week however, the PSI managed to exceed 300!! i was waking up on the thursday morning and when i saw the new about the PSI level rocketing so high, i kinda thought that i was dreaming and havent really woken up yet o.o anyway, according to new sources, the haze is supposed to come back! Seems like this june holidays, lots of pretty interesting stuffs did actually happen! firstly, there is the super bad haze, that had  everyone complaining and grabbing protective masks off the shelves which in turn triggered the "Singapore shouldnt be like children" response from an  Indonesian minister. Oh and then just today, there is the hailstorm in the western part of singapore! i mean like how coooooool. now now if only it would just snow~ Is this the first time we had a hailstorm? Not that i know of a previous incident.

Anyway, I dont believe it! i actually had to do sabo AGAIN during cell group fellowship after service -_-"' like WHAAAAT no way i would have to do it twice in a row! though it sounds like there was some conspiracy.... hah at least Clement also had to do the sabo with me! This sabo was a lot more epic than previous week man. The previous one, all i had to do was "play" the guitar and sing "im yours" by Jason Mraz. oh while kneeling down! and a flying kiss. oh this time round, we had to do a series of exercises and pose like a body builder and give a flying kiss at the end, to a girl! oh right oh right clement and I had to do it simultaneously to the same girl. Well she was sitting next to Jessie, a girl whom i know and when Jerome pointed to her, i thought i was going to do it to her! so i was like YES! at least its someone i know, then it wouldnt be so awkz. but nope it was the girl NEXT to her -___- ah God. Okay for those who are getting really confused with the names, luckily i have a group photo of e488, my awesome cell group! :D

AH yes, fun fact 101, did you know, that clement and joel were actually the ones who brought me to church? :D
Clement and joel were part of my primary school clique.  That was like EONS ago alright. We used to be really awesome buddies man, in fact, i still keep the primary school foolscap paper stack whereby all of use actually signed on it before we departed our ways for different secondary schools! If i manage to find the foolscap paper, im bound to upload the photo of it man :) and just about SEVEN years ago, when both of them invited me to church during christmas service. well as years went by, they left. but hey! they're back!! :D man oh man, i cant imagine that those were the days man, like sooo long ago! hehe more of the 'old birds' are back alright ;)

Ahhhhhh as the title suggests....yeah :/ this week has been an extremely busy week for me. All thanks to standby force (SBF). slotting in all the names sounds like a pretty 'duh' task, however when you have to consider about those who have been on SBF the previous time, those going on overseas leave, plus its the june holidays period hooooo! lots of deconflicting to do man. the worst part was really monday. because we are supposed to submit the list by morning. however, because of the parade that we had to rehearse for for the whole of last week, no one was actually able to do the work! and i didnt forsee that coming :( so.....it was really a mad rush man, trying to get all the details from various personnel, whilst trying to battle monday blues and post camp YOLO blues. hah usually i expand loads of energy during the weekends, just relaxing and doing whatever that needs to be done. and then i will be like some dead fish flopping around camp for like monday to wednesday :P thats why monday really sucked so bad!! it just so happen was the day with the largest workload for the entire week, because after that kai jie helped me out with the minor adjustments for the daily work for SBF. and with all the whatever blues and feeling so drained out after the weekends, plus it was camp weekend, woah!! double triple whammy man~ oh on a side note, when is the june holidays gonna end?? think its for a whole month right? argh im jealous that everyone has like a holiday while i am stuck in camp :(

well hey hey hey, at least now we are able to have some form of entertainment when i enter camp this time round! though its gonna need some setting up. Well previously, ok wait cannot take it, let me say something. everything i say the word previously and start thinking back, i keep on imagining as though its some sort of TV program. like PREVIOUSLY on channel 5....*flashback* *flashback* *flashback*. yeap. OK coming back, some time ago, after dominic phua ORDed, he took away everything from the bunk. like the tv, the disc player, the antenna. i mean are you freaking serious, even the antenna...? ack but its alright, not as though we cant make your own antenna. zzz.
so... this is what im going to be bringing into camp this book in! :P

it gets quite boring in camp when you dont have a tv. like really no forms of entertainment other than the radio. 92.0fm has all the oldies, which is nice! 93.3fm is good too, because its a radio station airing fully in chinese, other than occasional english and japanese songs. the reason why i like 93.3, is because even when doing my quiet time when the radio is on, i dont understand a single thing. #disgracetochinesepeople
so....hopefully when i bring this into camp, its gonna really light up our moods!

This week was also a rather special week. Somehow, i kept spending money on necessities, like food, drinks.. im cutting all other expenses that are forms of luxury in a bid to save lotsa lotsa money. Though i'm kinda not done with my nerf project so..... BLEAH. okay minimal spending. The amazing thing is that despite spending money regularly over the week, i started off this week with just $5 in my wallet. By faith, i believed that i could survive on that meagre amount. and by the end of the week, i was left with $2!! its a BIG BIG miracle alright!! in the past, my average weekly expenditure could easily hit 20-30 bucks, sometimes even more. What's more amazing is that i decided to calculate how much did i spend. obviously its 5-2=$3 but after thinking through, i spent more than that!! miraculously, every time i opened up my wallet, i had enough to eat. wohoo!! Praise the Lord!! :D Jesus is awesomeee (y)

anyway, now camp YOLO is over, the parade is also done already. and my knee hurts as hell alright!! sometimes, i really dont feel like walking. i tell ya, without my knee guard, walking is a chore alright. all my life i have been pretty healthy and injuries always heal quickly. not much of major injuries, but now when im at the peak of my youth, (YES I DONT CARE IM 21 BUT IM STILL A YOUTH) i actually sustain such a horrible injury! :( life sucks when you cant exercise. life sucks even more when you cant even do basic stuff without feeling pain. however, that doesnt mean its the end! :) I've prayed for healing in my knees before and it did work! however i fell down again and *pop* back to the same thing. somehow, the floor at the swimming pool suddenly became extremely slippery for no reason! and i had a spectacular fall. yeah really spectacular, just in short of falling into the pool. -___-"' like super no luck aye? anyway i went to doctors recently, just before camp week, and since my condition has yet to improve....in fact it has become worse -.-



there you go. so apparently, now im supposed to recover for another 3 months. also you know what, thats what the doctors have been saying for the past year of my injury. and the thing is that it doesnt work like they claim it would! :( it feels more like they are just shrugging off the work. argh. this injury better recover by the time i ORD man.... maybe its about time i seek a second opinion. sigh but the time and effort needed to do so.... :/ i gotta see when im more freed up then yeah! like seriously other than resting, the doctors dont seem to find any other way for me to recover. Also, i did a MRI scan just recently, however when they asked me to go for an appointment, the MRI scan wasnt ready yet, so the doctor just used the old scan and gave me a 3 month time period to rest. geez i wanna know whats wrong with me man, not just get time to rest. zzz the scheduling of the appointment was really screwed up IMO. like why schedule me so soon when the report isnt even out yet, and then put the next appointment 3 months down the road.

anyway, now in camp, i am pretty busy with my WITs project. WITs project is like projects done by us to improve the army...? make it more efficient, blah blah blah, most of the time its the editing of current equipments to make our lives easier or work more efficiently and comfortably. of course im not talking about having an OSIM massage chair in the middle of the battlefield or installed into the cockpits of planes. but rather, taking away unnecessary inconveniences that we have to go through. i dont even know how much i am allowed to disclose or whether i am allowed to do so or not, so im just not gonna disclose anything about my project! gosh i havent even finished the previous blog post! the one whereby im supposed to talk about my experience in camp YOLO. whoops. its still in the draft format. lmao.

i have since been given a new task to do! as in church-wise. I think its extremely hard for now, for i have zero experience in doing it, however i still got to press on :) hmmm now, come to think of it, it seems really weird...because i've never done it before, which was what i said previously *idiotic me* and there is so much to learn! ah but slowly, step by step, im sure i would be able to do so! ^^  you know, its kinda funny when one prays to want to be used more for God, and then later whines about the 'extra' mile or trial that one has to go through in order to reach that stage. yep thats me! :)

wowowow church camp is over! man oh man, FINALLY i manage to actually go as a partial camper for this camp, despite my busy schedule :D argh its so sickening when i was in JC and i couldnt go for the camp because i had to study....blah blah blah, parents complaining that the camp would sap out all the energy in me, plus you know how church camps are set on the june holidays and the JCs set their exams RIGHT AFTER the june hols. yeah. despicable. so that pretty conveniently translates to "no whatever camps" until your A levels are over aye. anyway anyway, coming back to camp yolo, here is my story how everything began. :)

So one typical weekday, my incek "warrant officer" asked me if i could go for the change-of-command parade and well since i had nothing on in camp during that period of time (which was last week), i agreed, along with my other signallers. This happened like slightly more than a month ago. The following week, my zone announced ET Camp YOLO!! and the dates clashed -_-"' DAMN. moreover, i already did a last minute pull-out of National Day Parade marching as my knee isnt getting any better. so doc says nope, dont even think of trying that out. so then i cant possibly just bailing out at the last minute too. moreover for the last month, i have been pretty busy doing lotsa work in camp. somehow, its a really busy period! ah speaking of which, i already have work to clear for tomorrow. what the. OKOKOK so apparently i cant go for camp YOLO, and I can only appear on the last night of the camp! okay, the camp was from thursday morning to saturday morning. which means that i can only come on friday night onwards, since the parade doesnt end till then. So they catered one entire week for the rehearsals.

Luckily, on wednesday, when the vetters came down to vet the parade, they said that it was good enough!! so.... they gave us an off on the following day, which was thursday, the first day of camp! :D at first, i was kinda apprehensive on going for the camp as i was worried that my knee injury would aggrevate, plus i still had to survive friday's parade stuffs. I'm glad i went for the first day alright! you know, life works in a really weird way. like from monday to wednesday, i had parade practice but i was like not tanned AT ALL. but on the first day of camp, as i played games at bishan park, BOOM totally tanned. I dont understandddd. but its good! always wanted to be tanned. i think it looks sooo cool :D first day was fun! we had lotsa games under the blistering hot sun!! :) praise God the weather was really too good man. whoever prayed for the weather did a too good job till it was totally sunny without clouds :P so i have been with DA GROOVE all these while, cracking my brains to think of cheers for the team, learning the yellow house cheers until the day before the camp started. oh yeah we had camp prelude, i cant remember if i blogged about it, but in short, it was a games session where teams could earn extra points. i fought for Da Groove, for Yellow house all the while! until when the camp officially started on thursday, in the morning when i woke up, thats when i realised i transfered over to Da Wild!! its kinda sad having to leave my team after putting in much effort for the preparations. i was like whattttt how could they do this?! :( but no choice, and to my horror, i was the oldest in my team. other than jessie, who is i think in poly, or was it secondary....ah anyway, the rest of my team were in PRIMARY SCHOOL. thats like take my age and -10. OMG. its a horror IMO. man was i really stretched, trying to talk to them and bonding together. changing teams just before camp is bad enough, to have young ones.....gosh. not to mention, there were 2 really naughty/uncooperative kids in my team! it was really really hard and i really found myself being stretched, trying to get them to cooperate and participate in the games. wow this seems pretty wordy! sorry guys.

so to cut the long story short, since i need to book in, (freaking hell) camp YOLO was really awesome!! I never once regretted not coming for the camp! even thursday was totally worth it alright~ it was thursday that i really felt being stretched :D the challenge was really hard but im glad i prevailed and now one of the super young and mischievous ones keep sticking close to me! :) and he says im like a big brother to him :D wah i feel really so thankful that he calls me that. I succeeded!! so after playing all the games for Camp YOLO, really going all out to enjoy myself and contribute, my knee got really busted. hoooo i tell ya after thursday games, my knee felt kinda weird already. bad sign. plus i had to survive through friday's parade stuffs, and then night when i went for games, helped here and there, woah now my knee is in a super bad condition i think! :( moreover the doc just told me strictly STRICTLY no forms of physical activities for 3 months, after he learnt that i actually tried running. darn mum.


here is the picture of my knee after camp YOLO. ah yeah thats my bathroom. see the yellow-ish bruise-ish looking injury around my knee? its kinda hard to see....but yeah its like a curve, along the contour of the side profile of the knee. hurts as hell man. feels as though like its internal bleeding or some sort! but definitely bruised. ack hope within these 2 weeks my knee can properly recuperate! better not try anything funny these days. i really really miss running :( its always like on the day itself when i run its alright, but next day, damn the pain comes in. even though my knee hurts really badly now, im glad i really gave my 100% for Camp YOLO despite being there for only a short period of time. i will post an update real shortly (within these few days i hope) about something that happened to me in camp YOLO! something good :) *hint: it isnt the holy laughter.


OKOK i got to book in now. Irritating :( anyway, here is the pic of the camp tee! looks really awesome right right right??? :D its like it can be worn out easily, and few will know its actually a camp shirt. even dad said it looks trendy. and he is one pain-in-the-ass fashionista alright.

My oh my, i have finally passed that one important milestone! and that is my 21st :) you know people say that for guys, their height usually jacks up by a little during the age of 21, AND I REALLY NEED THAT HEIGHT. nahhhh i still feel as though i didnt grow any taller.in fact, it feels as though everyone else is growing taller than I -__-"' what nonsense. Usually on their 21st birthdays, people like to celebrate it with a blast, like throwing parties, etc etc. instead, mine was a pretty quiet one as i always spend my birthday itself with my family! of course, my dear cell group celebrated my birthday and it was LOUDDDDDD. frankly speaking, i thought they were going to celebrate it this weekend instead of last weekend, hence i was totally shocked when they celebrated it in church!
