Proud to be a child of God, a faithful son (I hope lol) a trying to be hardworking student, a part-time worker, a nerf/milsim enthusiast, a crafting and music lover and an awesome friend. to you :) Hope you have an enjoyable time reading about my life, as much as I have fun living it! |

I am a university student who loves chocolate! Coffee is my best buddy when it comes to taking on my finals. I have a tendency to want to try and do so many different things at once and as a result, I've found my hobbies to be as such!
Nerfing is one of them, but aside from that, I also love arts and craft. I have my own startup, Thumbforlego at: where I sell my works!
I love to do all sorts of crafting, so you will see me uploading posts of my leathercrafts, thumbdrives, replica guns, nerf gun modifications and gundam models! I'm fortunate enough to be blessed by really supportive parents and given the chance to explore many, many parts of the world and try out a plethora of activities. This is also how I discovered my love for film photography, videography and piano.
The film photo above is unedited! My family loves cold countries xD. We managed to catch the northern lights twice!
I've also gotten the chance to experience many of nature's wonders
And my most freezing experience to date: riding a husky ski sled into the sunset (It was -38 to -40 degrees celsius and the huskies were pretty fast.)

Why 36000feetabove? This is the altitude that commercial planes cruise at and I have always loved the view up in the sky, being amongst the sea of clouds. :) Personally, my favourite favourite food has got to be airplane buns! Does anyone else feel the same way?! With a slice of butter and looking out of the window, I have yet to find an experience that can beat that.
After tomorrow, before today

GEE gee when was the last time i actually embarked on a project~! whether is it LEGO, or nerf guns, or replica guns, or gundam models. gosh its been ages! well i guess thats because life is getting kinda kinda busy...especially driving! test is gonna be on the fifth of march...and all thanks to my slow-and-relaxed pace for driving lessons, now i find myself doing two lessons back to back on saturday morning! bleaahhhhh but i guess i dont have much of a choice. all i can hope for is that i remember all the stupid rules that i have to follow and pass the driving test on my first attempt!my God, i am actually wearing this huge ass watch now...for my outfield this week! well its just an exercise. but at least we get to wear civilian clothes! timing is of utmost importance. (y) hence, the watch. YEAHHHHHH meh okay okay so apparently, A level results release is gonna be just round the corner soon, and i have begun preparing for all those troublesome admission stuffs again...all the paperwork and this year, i am aiming specifically for SUTD. i really really want to do design and architecture uh. so, i have decided to do a project! (amidst my laziness) i have always wanted to do this LEGO project since 2-3 years ago, but i never got to it due to the lack of resources. lego in singapore is just way too expensive.. and given its sheer size, lots of planning is required! however....SUTD admissions are already OPEN!! which means that i got to really step up and start building. im pretty convinced by myself that i have an absolute lack of lego parts. SIGH. but i dont have a choice. my pocket is getting pretty tight and i have little time left. i have no choice but to make do with whatever i have and hopefully, i can make it into a success! it kinda sucks when you know that your project isnt going to turn out the way you initially hoped it would turn out to be. sheesh i only seem to be facing with such problems for lego. its not like i have such problems with plastic modelling and nerf gun stuffs. In a flustered state, i have decided to embark on this project last night! damn working on this is definitely gonna suck up loads of nights. not to mention, i think i would need to do quite a fair bit of planning in camp...sigh too bad i am only going to bring white a4 paper and a pen into camp. no lego bricks for reference. too troublesome! so...HERE IS THE PROGRESS FOR THIS WEEKEND. bleah i rushed home after fellowshipping with the cell group after church service, and to my horror, the instability of the wingspan was absolutely horrific! as in usually, when building the outline of it, it might be unstable? but when i tried strengthening it, it didnt quite work out! i will tell you more about it later! ![]() OKAY this was the progress for last night...i worked on this for like 4 hours? it was quite a pain in the ass ttrying to strengthen the bottom part of the structure. it wasnt exactly going to look like that, but thats just the outline of it. the only actual building is the middle portion. there is actually A LOT of work under those plates! ![]() not quite obvious huh? still cant quite see what i did underneath, but thats the whole point of it! so for that, kudos to myself for making the integrity of the structure pretty well! ![]() this was taken today. if you notice the front portion has already become elevated, with the front wingspan spreaded out NOT-TOO-NICELY. its supposed to look something like on the right side. but the left side...it fell apart. :( mission failed. so for this evening, i sorta went back to the "drawing board" and redesigned the wing area! ![]() still a WIP...(work in progress) my original design is supposed to make the flying aircraft carrier look like a manta ray. however, the wings are extremely stable since i dont have the required resources to do the necessary strengthening and now, it looks like a chopped up manta ray -.- ![]() overview. i was still working on it at this point. ![]() my beloved republic frigate of which i waited more than a year for the price of it to drop before getting it, had to be sacrificed. :( LOTS OF LEGO SETS HAVE BEEN HARMED IN THE PROCESS. ![]() slowly slowly painstakingly building up the front. i really dont know about the colour combination. i might do some swaps or editing later on perhaps. and yes both sides are not symmetrical. i didnt like the idea of it, for the front at least. ![]() time check when i ended, 5pm, 24 EH? its supposed to be 27th january! DAMIT. LEGO sets that were harmed in the process.... THIS ONE ON TOP HURT THE MOST. WAITED MORE THAN A YEAR OF IT. ONLY TO BE DISMANTLED BY ME. THIS LEGO PROJECT THAT I AM DOING NOW BETTER BE A SUCCESS. and yes im running dry on the required parts again T.T Sunday, January 20, 2013
SHEEESh okok so the last time i blogged seems to be 2 weeks ago?? come to think of it, its like half a month??? thats weird uh? so...this week was a really really hectic and messed up week for me! it was fun! definitely but it did have loads of problems too! especially those stupid paper work that i have to do as a signaller. funny thing is that our battery (not alkaline battery, military battery) line is supposed to be a clerk in our estab, however...WE DONT HAVE. so....who are the people who are the most relaxed in the battery? signallers!! and thats me! oh and you know what? when i got out of course in 30SCE, i was doing clerical work too remember? so.... HEH back to those stuffs uh. but then again at least in 3DA, its a whole lot more efficient and not so much of printing out black and white copies.so this week is the first week we sorta officially take over the duties from the previous batch of signallers. as in since we are new....and they are still there, they just pass us everything that we need to know and we are all on our own! last week was kinda mini orienting around. this week is when the shit got real. so now, its me and samuel, the other signaller. sadly, he doesnt know much about sun microsystems. yes everyone uses bloody sun microsystems. all those word docs and excel sheets become hellish when its from microsoft to sun microsystems. So now i got to do parade states, mobstates they call it, aaaaaand....some other paperworks too if we are on standby force duty. oh i think i mentioned about it right? within one hour, i have to be back in camp no matter where i am. just that usually, we gets a heads-up ;) CHEATING. now, we are on 24/7 duty instead. im still quite a noob to all the airforce whatever abbreviations and stuffs that they have, like 24/7 duty....but i guess over time i will learn! plus outfield is coming up soon...oh that is soooo gonna suck!! sweating it all out....hahaha i used to sweat like mad when i was in BMT but now, hehe! no longer used to sweating eh. unless its PT. oh speaking of PT, now i have quite a fair bit of PT! which is kinda good thing although i pretty much find myself dragging myself to PT session. every morning, pull up regime. BLEAH. but its okay! at least we become fitter and the blood flows better in our bodies. gee i think blogger will be so much more entertaining if we can throw in emoticons huh? maybe it can just that i havent figured out yet. afterall, im still using the oldies stuff! Its kinda weird getting used to my new lifestyle now as a signaller in one of the batteries in 3DA. i really dont know if its better or worse. all i know is that i have a lot more of work to do, and i gotta appear in office from 8-5. not like signal platoon where i was from, we can actually stay in bunk. bleah. at least when i am in bunk, i can do things that are more beneficial to my civilian life. you know...using your NS life to sharpen yourself before you get thrown back into the civilian world, get sent to studies and then dumped into the treacherous working world. HAHHAh oh shit i make everything sound so bleak! i just hope that this year, when i try and apply for all the local uni placings again, i really really hope and pray i can get a placing into a local uni! >.< i dont wanna go overseasssssssss. even though i know its probably a whole lot better exposure, im not ready to part from my friends. just not the time man. woah woah woah! this weekend is EXTREMELY SHORT! but i gotta say it was really well spent. hmmm i didnt have driving lessons, since i had FAMILY DAY instead!! :D nono its not those kinda family days whereby the entire family decide to spend time with each other but instead, its a time of me bringing my family to 3DA (defence artillery) well some of you may not know what is defence artillery, and im telling ya its not from the army! yes the army only has artillery and no such thing as defence artillery. well 3DA is actually a Ground Based Air Defence unit! which is where the GBAD word comes from. :) its just my first month in the unit? and apparently they have such an event annually, whereby everyone can bring their families in and enjoy the fun and games. OH THERE WAS FREE FLOW FOOD and.... ICE CREAMMMM!!! best of all, they had pretty vendors serving us ;DFrankly speaking, i was thoroughly impressed with the standard of the organisation of the whole event. its like we sort of had a dry run on friday, one day before the main event! The food was free flow! and you know how irritating and pissing it can be when they label 'free flow' and it turns out to be just like one round of food without any top ups? its like a buffet that has just all the food displayed there? well that wasnt the case for 3DA family day! apparently, when we were done eating with one tray, they ACTUALLY brought out another tray! MAN now THATS what i call standard. Its like they really care for the people and cater way more than usual, just so that they can avoid any possible disappointment with the families. free flow ice creams, éclairs, and mind you we can choose the flavours of the ice cream okay! plus there was candy floss, popcorn, snacks for the movie screening.... etc etc FREAKLOAD of foodie! okokok enough of food im seriously getting hungry after thinking about all the food that i had yesterday. T.T OH actually i was in the umbrella party! which means that if it rains, we got to take out our umbrellas and shelter the civilians. hey hey our dress code was civilian bottom and the airforce tee on top! phew! luckily we didnt have to wear our smart no.4 can you imagine us wearing bloody boots on a saturday...? oh we had to man the PA sets too, to make sure music and the emcee could interact with the crowd. so we were wondering. WTHECK we have to do duty and we cant accompany our family members...that gotta suck. oh i havent talked about the activities available! okokok but anyway, our battalion Signal officer was kind enough and understanding enough to let us run loose and follow our families around! that allowed us also chit chat with our family members and tell them more about the unit! that was soooo coool!!! sheesh if i was in the army and in 30SCE, i dont think i would ever have the chance to. It was also because of the family day which enabled my parents to understand what we do in camp, how is our living conditions like and also get a glimpse of the equipment we use for the activities, we had erm some missile simulation game? that was embedded into the inert missle system that they train with (phew im just a signaller) along with the v200 vehicle! thats what they call it. hmmm....they also had some jeeps up for display! so its just like an army open house i guess? they also had a small corner of games and floats thingies for the kids to jump on... There you go! thats the v200 that we use. kinda cute huh? but i wonder how fast this thing can go.. hmmm they also had some bunk viewing, as well as finding some tokens from the bunk. they hid the tokens at the places where they usually check for dirt! also, they had games rooms that had xbox 360 and kinects...etc etc! i BET they simply took em from the bunks upstairs! tsk tsk. in 3DA, some bunks have xbox 360, or ps3 or a tv. pretty fun huh! some also have a mini fridge! i dont know but for out bunk, since we are still new, all we have are tons of potato chips. like seriously TONS. they also had aircraft recognition tests, that was fun! hmmm what else did they have...? HEHE you know what? im too lazy to think! :D All i know, is that my family really enjoyed themselves during the event and they were, too, thoroughly impressed with how everything was done! the Commanding Officer actually talked to my parents and I and well they found the CO a really fun and positive person! Dad says that the whole camp feels so light hearted and enjoyable to be in, also because of the top-down management, whereby everyone is also happy thanks to the CO. we really really get to enjoy quite a bit in this camp! For those who wanna know where to get posted to, GET POSTED TO 3DA!!! but of course if you are in the battery operating the missle systems, we have to be on 24/7 standby...so for those operators, hard life uh. however for SIGNALLERS.....MUAHAHAHAH. nvm. wanna know something cool? we may seem slack and switch off at times but when the button is pressed, expect us to be at our max capability, all ready to move out! why are we able to do so? because we do our routine duties properly and ensure everything is in tip top working condition. i LOVE the 3DA family! :D Tuesday, January 01, 2013
wow geez everyone is talking about the new year, 2013! well i guess i am following suit, but imma look back at 2012 and just try and recall whatever has happened in that year. its kinda hard to believe that its 01-01-2013, not that i believe in the mayan calendar! (although it has striking similarities to an oreo cookie) ah thats not the point! but 2012 BY FAR has been the year with the most amounts of BIGGIES in my life. hah when i look back, things seemed really really messed up. reaaaaal bad! but im just glad that everything is sorta back on track? im still hoping for a uni placing in a local uni! :( darn myself for not working hard enough during A levels! im kinda glad that i got a good placing in UTAS, Australia but im not NO WHERE keen on leaving my friends behind! :( i know the exposure of overseas studies will be good, etc etc but NOPE not ready on leaving just yet! I dont even know if i should be using yet!okok here are the BIG things that happened in 2012! here is how i classify whether they are big: firstly when i think of 2012, they should come up straight to my mind! :D fullstop! 1. Collecting of A level Results. 2. Enlisting into army (BMTC) 3. Getting into my first vocational camp, 30SCE 4. Being revocationalised as a signaller in Signal Institute and then.... 5. Being posted to 3DA (HEAVENNNNN) 6. Getting to be good friends with a new friend! :D totally unexpected. OKOK first up, A levels was a absolute disappointment for me! i never knew that i would end up in such a dire situation and at that time, my future looked really really bleak, it was like i didnt know what to do! actually now, when i think of it, i also still do not really know what i exactly want to do. Some tell me that i can be a GP teacher (but i think i might kill the students). Some friends told me i can be a piano teacher! because of my passion and diligence in practising. I tell myself that i want to be an architect! but there is no avenue for me to learn in a local uni since my grades are so horrible. when i first received my results, i was so so devastated! of course i wasnt expecting top results since i "woke up" too late, but then again i wasnt expecting such horrible results! but anyway, whats done been done, there is no way i can change that, but i can use that as a learning opportunity for me! sigh why i am always so stubborn as to not listen to what the people around me advise me to. ACK now is the time to pray for a miracle from God! >.< 2013 is already here and the application window is gonna be open again! so THIS year! i am really really really x9999 hoping that i can get into a local uni! then i wont have to worry so much for the entire year. its like one of those unsettling things that you just got to settle, but there is only a small window period for everything to occur. In Dragon Platoon 1 whilst in BMT, it was a really fun and enjoyable time! i really got a chance to make so many new friends, and so many of these friendships shined forth during times of need! also, the BEST part in BMT was the amount of weight i shed off my body. i mean come on 20kg in like 4 months?? that felt so good! it was like now i feel so much better that i know i am a whole lot fitter! (although i think im kinda starting to put some back on hehehehe) but yeah! all those fun times that we had together, all the physical training, especially since so many were totally new to the idea of camping! ahahah luckily for me i had a really good scouts background (JOIN SCOUTS!!!) and it really helped me through BMT! the route marches that we had to do... the field camp that we had to go through.. and all those sleepy spells that we had in the middle of the day! oh yes! and because i was in the obese company, we had to do loads of PT, which of course fat people hate. and then whenever it rains, we call it CAT1 and then we cant do PT! but of course later on the sergeants realised we could do so indoors... all those half naked men running around doing PT, especially aerobics! that was damn funny! Oh God, then here comes the 30SCE season. BLEAH 30SCE was so hell! i mean the atmosphere around the camp, it was just simply everyone trying to get at each other. it was such a dull and mundane camp. the moment you step into camp, you feel that sense of oppresion. tsk! BUT HEY! IM OUTTA THERE! lucky lucky me, i really gotta thank God for getting me out of that horrible situation. =D you know....all those posts that i had on the treatment that i had to go through in camp. However, i also did meet good people there of course! i know i had bad experiences with 2 sergeants in camp but of course there are really good ones too! those that really care for us, watch over our well being and protect us when needed to ^^ its not ALL bad in 30SCE, but just generally bad :) After that i was voationalised as a signaller! hahahah you know how everyone says that signallers, drivers and storeman are the slack vocations in army? hahaha i gotta totally agree man! i mean yes we do have times when it gets pretty challenging but most of the time, we have it off pretty well most of the time! ah well might as well combine 3DA together with this! so... becoming a signaller has been really fun!OK at first, i was still kinda apprehensive that i would have to go back to 30SCE in the end since they sent me over to be a signaller. but LUCKILY....i got reposted to air force, 3DA! DA=Defence Artillery. means we shoot down planes. oh but my job is just to maintain that communiations is up. :P so other than that...and some duties that we have to carry out, SLACK SLACK SLACK. also, in the air force, like i said before, its not so rank conscious there! so we dont really feel like that massive gap between normal men and sergeants and officers. its like everyone knows that we need each other, so just work together and bond together! that should be the spirit man...! im just so glad that i am finally in a better environment, an environment that i feel so much happier in! BEST OF ALL, i actually got to make friends (unexpectedly) with a really really awesome person! its like WOW we actually are able to understand each other so so well and its just so awesome having that person chat with me all the time! if not, can you imagine how lonely im gonna be?? (ps im single thats why) and it becomes so good when you have a person to share your joys and sadness with! its kinda hard if you try tanking all the problems to yourself with no avenue to talk about it. hahah all this while its like yes you do have friends to talk to, etc etc but there are just some problems that you dont mention to anyone ;) after been waiting for so long, i finally have someone to talk to if i have a problem! moreover, i know i can be comfortable whilst saying out my problems :) hahahaha gee i guess 2012 really ended off pretty well huh! i actually got to make a really really good friend! :DD enjoy all your 2013 celebrations! while i prepare my stuff to book in! one more week in 3DA :) life seems a whole lot better and brighter now that i have found a really really good friend. I am so gonna treasure that friend of mine! :D |
