Proud to be a child of God, a faithful son (I hope lol) a trying to be hardworking student, a part-time worker, a nerf/milsim enthusiast, a crafting and music lover and an awesome friend. to you :) Hope you have an enjoyable time reading about my life, as much as I have fun living it! |

I am a university student who loves chocolate! Coffee is my best buddy when it comes to taking on my finals. I have a tendency to want to try and do so many different things at once and as a result, I've found my hobbies to be as such!
Nerfing is one of them, but aside from that, I also love arts and craft. I have my own startup, Thumbforlego at: where I sell my works!
I love to do all sorts of crafting, so you will see me uploading posts of my leathercrafts, thumbdrives, replica guns, nerf gun modifications and gundam models! I'm fortunate enough to be blessed by really supportive parents and given the chance to explore many, many parts of the world and try out a plethora of activities. This is also how I discovered my love for film photography, videography and piano.
The film photo above is unedited! My family loves cold countries xD. We managed to catch the northern lights twice!
I've also gotten the chance to experience many of nature's wonders
And my most freezing experience to date: riding a husky ski sled into the sunset (It was -38 to -40 degrees celsius and the huskies were pretty fast.)

Why 36000feetabove? This is the altitude that commercial planes cruise at and I have always loved the view up in the sky, being amongst the sea of clouds. :) Personally, my favourite favourite food has got to be airplane buns! Does anyone else feel the same way?! With a slice of butter and looking out of the window, I have yet to find an experience that can beat that.

I just realized how my previous posts were just so army-heavy! well this time round its on to something different, film photography! Ever since the holidays kicked in, i have had more time to sit down and rest as well as catch up on other hobbies. Also, i think i may have strained my left eye over the past few weeks which i guess has affected the focus on many of my film photographs this time round. I now have so many nice shots developed!! and i am really happy with the new photos :)
Now i am really hoping that i can get a new camera lens to play around with! although its going to cost a bomb and God knows where am i going to find these old film camera lenses for sale?? I am really loving the uncertainty that i get when using the film camera, not knowing how the shots turned out until i develop the film! Theres really so much to take into account until the shot is taken and its scary because the focus also has to be there! so if you want to capture a moving target, gotta pray so hard that the focus is just right when you hit that shutter button and that the pose isn't some awkward pose.
My camera weighs more than a standard DSLR camera which is pretty heavy! The weight was quite a setback for me until i changed to this new strap, the CustomSLR Air Strap which works wonders in making my shoulders feel so cooling and the camera so light!! After trying out so many camera straps, please please please go for this one if you intend to actively use your camera! Albeit it doesn't look as trendy or "hippie" as leather straps, it rests so comfortably on your shoulders, and somehow makes the camera feel lighter. Two other factors why my camera is seeing more sunlight now is also because 1. Its the holidays!! and 2. i changed my bag!! To yes another military-ish bag (what's new) I am really digging this new backpack because it's so functional and it helps distribute the weight really well too! I'll do a separate blogpost for that some other time :)
However, not everything is always smooth sailing!! it took me so much practice to get these shots out and i am in this constant process and effort on improving myself. One really bad experience that i've recently had is 1357. This roll of film was processed by Standard Photo and i was quite shocked when i got the roll of film back... Disclaimer, this is the FIRST time it has ever happened to me after developing 7 rolls of film there. Film shots are very different from digital whereby once you take it, there is a form of permanence. You cannot retrieve it once it's gone or if the film is ruined and on top of that, you can't preview the shots just like a standard digital camera.
It's quite heart pain to see your film in such a condition because you took so much effort in taking those photographs only to have the negatives treated in such a manner. For the record, the negatives were also badly processed which left black stains and marks on the photographs. On top of that, the film roll as you can see below is warped and folded at certain points. This was REALLY bad. Can you imagine if the roll of film holds your precious overseas shots or some important roll of film only to be tarnished in the developing process? Its going to be a huge disappointment. Thankfully, this roll of film didnt hold significant shots *PHEW* whereas the following roll of film was really important to me!
Below is a sample of what happened to my film photographs. Can you imagine what it would be like if this shot was a really important shot?? Really bad, no go! I would not want to take such a risk again.
At least now i have switched to a new shop and the photos are turning out way better! the developing time has also shortened and i am now able to rest at ease knowing that my photos are in good hands! I shall end off on a more positive note with a nice photo of my wonderful cell group! It's close to never that the one using the film camera gets a photo of himself isn't it!
