Proud to be a child of God, a faithful son (I hope lol) a trying to be hardworking student, a part-time worker, a nerf/milsim enthusiast, a crafting and music lover and an awesome friend. to you :) Hope you have an enjoyable time reading about my life, as much as I have fun living it! |
Minimalist
I am a university student who loves chocolate! Coffee is my best buddy when it comes to taking on my finals. I have a tendency to want to try and do so many different things at once and as a result, I've found my hobbies to be as such!
Nerfing is one of them, but aside from that, I also love arts and craft. I have my own startup, Thumbforlego at: where I sell my works!
I love to do all sorts of crafting, so you will see me uploading posts of my leathercrafts, thumbdrives, replica guns, nerf gun modifications and gundam models! I'm fortunate enough to be blessed by really supportive parents and given the chance to explore many, many parts of the world and try out a plethora of activities. This is also how I discovered my love for film photography, videography and piano.
The film photo above is unedited! My family loves cold countries xD. We managed to catch the northern lights twice!
I've also gotten the chance to experience many of nature's wonders
And my most freezing experience to date: riding a husky ski sled into the sunset (It was -38 to -40 degrees celsius and the huskies were pretty fast.)

Why 36000feetabove? This is the altitude that commercial planes cruise at and I have always loved the view up in the sky, being amongst the sea of clouds. :) Personally, my favourite favourite food has got to be airplane buns! Does anyone else feel the same way?! With a slice of butter and looking out of the window, I have yet to find an experience that can beat that.
After tomorrow, before today

![]() Its the FIRST time i have ever been to legoland! i know there are lots of them scattered around the globe, especially in the US but then again, when i actually finally had the chance to go down and see for myself the lego galore, boy was i shocked! :D *in a happy way* Even though i know LEGO has always set very high standards for its products, i never expected legoland to be that good! I think one major downside on why lots of people do not find it worth going, is because the target audience is children! so...the rides are fun, but not as thrilling as what you would expect from USS! well if it was USS standard, im pretty sure thousands of children would already have died from the rides eh? -___-"' What impacted me the most was the miniature land that they had. it was just so well thought off and planned out! not to mention, the amount of man hours that has to be poured into every single project in order to make it as real as possible! frankly speaking, when you stand afar, these projects look so real! Later on in the photos, you can see just how real it gets! OKAY. enough of talking! A picture paints a thousand words aye? how bout a thousand photos! ONEE MILLION WOOOORDS!!! okay enough rubbish lets move on! *no i didnt take 1000 photos* ![]() hmmm.... i remember there is a photo of me standing at this gate...sheesh where did i go? OH YES. the sun's so hot you end up frowning! ![]() tsk some people just REFUSE to pay. ![]() ![]() first stop was the...technic racers or something like that...actually its just one major dip -.- nothing that impressive, other than the uber long queue and long waiting hours. :) but then again, just take the rides for some fun! having SOME fun is better than having NO fun ;) hah funny thing was that my bro and I posed for the camera when we were going down, as we knew the camera was there! but mum didnt. -.- so after the ride, when she saw the photo, she was like "whaatt?? you guys knew where the camera was?! Didnt tell me!" so from then on, i told her where the camera was stationed at. but it didnt quite work out! ![]() Maybe i should scan in the photos for those rides eh? ![]() this ride...was too kiddy. SKIP. ![]() even the famous old man came to visit legoland! no no not the one standing in the middle frowning. Hmmm....That was like one part of Legoland! basically like all theme parks, Legoland is made up of themed-parks. I KNOW ITS LAME. >>>> ![]() The next place is called Kingdoms! See the rollercoaster on the left? THAT was fun! it was so good, and the photo of us in the rollercoaster turned out pretty good, so i asked mum to buy the laser-printed version on a brick wall! :D that technology is just too cool. Gotta do that again one day! ![]() Guess which is my mum?? *answer: purple top, white bottom. HAH she actually looks like she is with the kids running eh? :P ![]() ![]() since when did dragons use bow and arrows anyway? ![]() I just love all these sculptures here and there that are made out of lego, that's what makes it LEGOLAND afterall! I so enjoy trying to spot these here and there, some are like hidden around corners of tents? got to keep a look out! and thats the fun part - spotting them! ;D ![]() ![]() Bro took up about a good 20% of my photo. ![]() there is actually a long long long queue for the rollercoaster ride, and this is one of those lego works you will see whilst queuing. :) ![]() FYI when you enter the castle, its another long snaking queue. ![]() ![]() NOT BAD RIGHT. MY PHOTOGRAPHY. :P :P artistic (y) ![]() ![]() tempted to make one of these at home~ MOM! i need more bricks!! BRICKS BRICKS BRICKS ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() even the horse is also modelled after the traditional LEGO horse! \NOW NOW NOW on to Miniature World! The highlight of the trip! I find this part really really interesting and this is like the part that actually makes the whole trip to Legoland worth it! (especially for those who dont fancy the rides) Well i guess i shall let the pictures do the talking, do enjoy the photos that i have taken! The models are replicas of the prominent places around the world, as well as in Singapore and Malaysia. Also, they do have some extra stuffs, like the pirate ships, etc etc. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() just love how elaborate the entire thing looks! ![]() ![]() this is some port in malaysia... i forgot the name of the port! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() the cool part is that the exhibit actually has portions that can move, like the cranes oscillating, or the boats moving around.. ![]() told you they look pretty realistic! Enjoy the magnificence of the buildings~ ![]() ![]() ![]() OK OK OK PAUSE PAUSE PAUSE. lets play a game. Can you spot something special in this photo?? scroll down for the answer later! ![]() ![]() hah! see if you got it right! :P GETTING BACK TO THE TOURRRR... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() OKAY AT THIS POINT, we decided to stop for lunch! wasnt hungry plus i wanted to take advantage of the super clear skies to walk around the exhibits, just in case it starts to rain! but i guess, not much of an option. lunch break. ![]() ![]() inside, is WAYYY too crowded. even my army camp isnt THAT crowded! tsk tsk. this layout though reminds me of IKEA, especially the one at Tampines. it looks just about the same! just that instead of having lots of wooden furnitures around, its LEGO. ![]() oops, just had to. MoooOOooving on~~ ![]() ![]() ![]() i gotta say i really love the roof of the airport! its like so nicely done up! cant imagine all the effort man.. ![]() ![]() OK the next one is the Taj Mahal! i was particularly impressed with this build, because the amount of detail taken into account was just extraordinary! this one and the Ankorwatt. These two are really good. (y) ![]() ![]() this is the close up shot of the walls, just LOOK at those insane details!! the amount of work...placing a brick at a time and gluing them into place. makes me feel like robbing it! :D ![]() i forgot whats this... ![]() again, loads of crazy details. i actually took picture of these so that i can learn some new techniques for lego! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() the forbidden city looks soooo good when its far away but at a closer look...hmmm its nice but not as good as the taj mahal or ankorwatt. ![]() TOLD YOU THE SUN IS TOO BRIGHT. ![]() ![]() OKOK lets play the game again~ ![]() ack you know what? its not obvious in this photo...HENCE ze kind Ming Yang shall give you the answer. :) ![]() The next theme was the eygptian theme...frankly speaking, its like every theme park has this la. So...i was kinda bored. -.- ![]() SKIPPED. ![]() careful lego guys! dont drop the sign! ![]() ![]() ![]() my plans to steal this thing didnt work out. ![]() neither did my plan work for this T.T ![]() kids having fun in this room where they get to build their own car and compete. well if you call it a car~ ![]() HAH back to miniature wonderland. Its still the best! ![]() oops! favourite car spotted! By this time, we were sort of done touring around Legoland? they have lots of rides for kids and well its good to feel young once in a while aye? :) due to time contraints, we skipped a number of rides. huh but come to think of it, we were really worn out when the day ended! BUT we cant possibly end the day without any shopping right???kie/media/IMG_3185.jpg.html" target="_blank"> ![]() ![]() it was a really nice trip for me as a lego fan. :) i really had a good chance to appreciate so many different building techniques that were used to construct miniature wonderla ![]() ![]() THATS WHAT IM LOOKING FOR. specific lego parts!! but they dont have all. and you cant have like an order list or something. i really wish lego had that function.. as the night falls... On a side note, mum actually went on amazon and bought really awesome lego sets for meeee!! uber uber uber happy (y) if you ever need to buy anything for me as a present, LEGO is the answer. No matter how big or how small, i just love it! I already have in mind, a structure that i wish to build. Something Sci-fi, ssomething MASSIVE. but since SG lego is really expensive, that would mean i need a SUPERMASSIVE budget. something i cant afford! so far after estimating, i would need loads of individual parts..some star wars sets to throw in as supplements and hopefully armed with whatever i have, i can make that imagination into reality. thats why i like about lego! I am really happy of my previous inventions which were a huge success in my opinion as i tried out various building techniques in order to achieve goals that had lots of conflicts. but im glad! im glad. which is why i am going further towards something even better!! (me so poor...) ***RECAP OF PAST LEGO PROJECTS..*** OKAY now on to LEGO. like finally. the last part. this is my creation! i somehow managed to successfully build a hanger inside the ship O.o with the top half of the hanger being built upside down! as in the studs of the lego bricks went in a different direction. man was it a feat for me! xD so glad i finished this. nicknamed it the hammerhead because of the bulky front! the front area was built on 2 different planes (first time trying out such a technique), joint together at certain key areas to keep it sturdy!:Dnext is a prototype! of part of a project. the project never got to see the light though.. its a really simple system that allows huge rotating blades to go in opposite directions. The main crux of the problem was trying to minimise it, so as not to be so much of an eyesore plus to connect it to the main body, whilst letting the gears do their jobs, linking it all to the motor located in the main body. THAT i have yet to figure out how.. plus i needed really sturdy supporting beams in the middle. so...project shelved! KIV.LASTLY...is the Lego creation that i adore the most! okay not the whole thing, just the transport ship. it went through loads of planning! explain why later ;) took about 1month of planning? Here are the photos of the planning stage: this is the prototype of the skeleton! i wanted to create a ship that could have the front half of it in mid-air, with the landing gears all to the back! that was a reeeeal challenge as the body had to undergo lots of changes to ensure that it wont split apart just like the titanic. The splitting was due to the sheer weight of all the bricks that would be added later on. this is how the "bombing" mechanism looks like! i later integrated this whole part into the back portion of the ship! and it was a success! this is the finished product! troops can walk back and forth inside the ship, as i made it hollow inside. there are 2 parts of the ship that the soldiers can walk about. of which i would explain more in the next photo. and this was what i meant, with half of the body above ground. :) The troops can walk around in the ship from the cockpit area all the way till the engine area as shown by the desert-brown lego piece, or where the landing gear is connected to the ship. behind that is the bombing mechanism. Also, the landing gear can fold up! this is the bombing mechanism, that also had a prototype as i had to squeeze it into the very narrow body of the aircraft! this was one of the challenges that i also faced and had to undergo lots of revision. this is how it looks like with 'bombs' inside. note they are the orange tipped stuffs hiding inside! and now the mechanism works smoothly, with all of the bombs dispensing out successfully! it has an opening hatch too! pretty cool eh! just that the angles are...a tad too high in my opinion. say hi to the robot! at its sides are some 'bombs' for the aircraft. the propulsion thingies..dont know what to call em xD also received some of my considerations. when they turn, it looks like pistons moving because of the way the lego bricks are put! its the green portion there..that whole portion will look real mechanical when in action :P added mini-boosters at the sides hehehe. From this: ![]() To this: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() WOW. LONG POST. me fingers tired. |
